Simple new labour do not represent the working class - can you afford their champagne - thought not.

yes i go on the piss every weekend with the family allowance money, after ive worked hard all week doing 100 hours of work or more so my kids can have a decent lifestyle.
iam sure my 5 kids wont mind me spending £50 of the family allowance every week on carryouts and booze in return for me putting in every hard penny i earn into there wellbeing and there future, after all i do all the work and only get the £50 to spend on myself every week so you could say the family allowance is like a bail out for me just to unwind after a long week.
If i didn;t get the £50 from the government i would have to get it from somewere else, and i would never dream of taking it out of the weekley food bill of £200.

I have been made redundant after 39 years of continuous working. During that time I saved for a pension. I am not entitled to any benefits at all. Nothing. No job seekers allowance, no help with my mortgage. My three children are grown up now.
I give up. I have paid tens of thousands into this country and got precisely f*** all back. I hope no little teenager is going to lecture me on self reliance.

It depends why they need help. If they cant work because some sort of disadvantage or find it hard because of the credit crunch then they do help but if not they need to work thenselves. They have to help families with children for the childrens sake because they have no choice over the parents work, this said not all people choose not to work and they should have help!

If you are disabled or sick you will get help . If unemployed also. But if you can work You have to do that and support yourselves,,, The class of family doesn't matter . So what are you looking for ?. if you are on low wages can get housing benefit or benefit to help with council tax , Why honestly would you want help ?

if everyone got a months tax free wage over christmas we would not have to worry too much about buying gifts, whether we have children or not we all have gifts to buy and usually end up getting in debt. We all need a little help this time of year

If your working and paying your bills and putting food on the table, what do you need help with? Health care? No one has a right to healthcare, therefore the government isnt obligated to help.

As others have said - New Labour do not represent the working class. They are privatising our education and healthcare, making it harder for people who are flung on the dole as a result of the recession and continuing with Tory policies of pandering to the companies who donate to the party.
We need a new party to represent ordinary people. (see source)

It makes me so mad when I see Mothers collecting their Family Allowances and then promptly use it to buy scratch cards and fags. I don't mind my taxes helping children, but the children never get it the parents spend the money on themselves.

The main problem with our country today is the everybody--from banks to car makers to ordinary citizens--thinks the government ought to "help them out". Whatever happened to self reliance?
