Jazz Fans: "B*tches Brew" (Miles Davis) or "Blue Train" (John Coltrane)?

Which jazz classic do you prefer?

Update:

Yes, Tryx.. lol, 14 and a jazz lover. I actually really love Coltrane. So innovative, and Miles.. Miles had a different take on jazz. I almost hear a psychedelic spin in his songs.. maybe thats just me and my 60's mind, lol.

Blue Train, I think the Blue Train album should be one of the essential albums everyone should listen to at least once in their life.

That not a fair question kind of you dam if you do and you dam if you don't. Man both composition are classic songs why would you want someone to pick one over the other. Blue Trane with Philly own Edward Lee Morgan along with Coltrane. Bitches Brew was so far ahead of the times people were lost they didn't get it. Miles was moving forward in a new decade things were changing and Miles was changing too. What a period in the jazz music history Miles was the leader of the fusion movement. I like both Albums.

Bitches Brew probably had more of an impamct on jazz as a whole but I'd much rather listen to Blue Train, the whole album is great. Watch this guy play Coltrane's classic Blue Train solo on recorder!!

You are right on point. Coltrane did all that exploration into scales and pushed to limits of sax playing but never lost the musicality. Miles was the true jazz man always listening and changing never playing safe.

Suppose I have to say I like Blue Train best but then I am a sax player.

While B*tches Brew was a good album for Davis, I'm going to say Coltrane's Blue Train on this one. Peace!

Love Miles and Trane, but Blue Train is a better album. now, full body of work, I think miles might have a very small edge, between these 2 albums, its gotta be blue train for me.
