    Hey strawberry,

My wife and I regularly combine a tomato and ricotta sauce with short pasta such as penne or bigger rigatoni.

This type of mixed sauce is really creamy, quite sweet, and absolutely moreish. If you like (recommended), you can also grate more parmesan over your dish once you've mixed the pasta into the sauce and served it up.

If that sounds as mouthwatering to you as it does to me (y'know, I might just cook that one tonight!), I have a full recipe guide here: http://www.pasta-recipes-made-easy.com/pasta-with-...

    Enjoy!

The sauce is usually the element that you choose based on the shape of the pasta. Then you choose the cheese based on what meat/sauce you're pairing with the pasta.

It's not the pasta, it's the meat and sauce you choose that will ultimately set the taste.

I prefer alfredo with my penne, and either ham or chicken.

Depends on the sauce, not the shape of the pasta.
