I need help with a gas furnace?

I have a Coleman Evcon pulse fired gas furnace that is causing me some headaches. The call for heat is there, all limits and the air pressure switch closes......the call goes through the ignition module and the ignitor fires. Gas valve opens and the units runs perfectly. Indoor motor comes on and all is well.

40 seconds pluse after everything seems well the gas valve kills the flame when there is still a call for heat. limits are still closed and the draft motor is still running. I have replaced the module with a new one but the furnace is doing the same thing. What the heck is going on with this thing?

Update:

The unit is 20 years old. No pilot and no flame sensor.

Update 2:

once again.... there is no pilot, so that means there is no thermocouple. DOC N- you do not know your a$$ from a shotgun barrell and I pray you are not part of the HVAC industry.

The thermocouple is bad. You can get a universal replacement at any hardware store.

    1) is there an in-line gas filter to the unit? if so, it is plugged.

    2) your furnace has outlived its useful life and it is time to replace with a much higher efficiency unit that will pay for itself within 5 years over what you have...perhaps now is the time?????

    3) Are you sure the gas problem is not at the meter? I would have the gas company come out and check out the gas supply.

    Good luck.

Either get a real repairman or replace the furnace before you become the crispy critter before Christmas. By the way, I do hope your CO detector is working before I read about you in the newspaper or hear you have become a statistic. Merry Christmas but I am not sure you will make it to New Years so I will not give you a New Years greeting at this time.
