Why do so many sites have ads on the right side of the page?

I understand that most browsers have the scroll bar on the right side of the window. If you are reading the left side of the window, while scrolling, one slip could send you into the @#$% ad.

    navigations are on the left is why like the file edit view buttons drop down would hide some things and they just wanted to stay clear of the dropdowns

    the ads are one way of supporting the cost of hosting a website. these things aren't free ya know ad putting an ad banner generates a bit of income.

    well people put like google ads on their website to get money.

    everytime someone clicks on an ad, caching!
