Who can beat Manny Pacquiao?

Between 135 lbs. and 147 lbs.,which current fighters could beat the Pac Man?

It's been awhile since I've been around folks. So I'll wish everyone Happy Holidays and a great New Year!

Update:

You've got to give credit to Freddie Roach. He has added so much to the Pac Man's arsenal. There was a time when Manny had a HUGE weakness. He would load up with his left to the extent that he would finish off balance and squared up to his opponent. That has been erased by Roach's great training and patience. And Manny's ability to absorb and TRUST Roach's experience. If he is to fight Hatton, Manny destroys Ricky inside of 8 rounds. Manny has too much speed and an indomitable will to win. They make a great team.

At lightweight, Juan Manuel Marquez is the only fighter I can see possibly outscoring Pacquiao.

At junior welterweight, I really can't think of anyone who is an immediate threat, unless Mayweather wanted to fight at that weight.

At welterweight, due to the natural size and strength of these guys, any of them who are feeling youthful and willing to fight back can give Pacquiao issues, like Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey and once more, Mayweather.

He won't fight the taller welterweights ie Paul Williams & Antonio Margaritoo. He would have an interesting matchup with Miguel Cotto or Shane Mosley. At the lighterweights no one, he has a match scheduled for May 2nd with Ricky Hatton, but if he boxes & gets in & out like he did against Oscar that will be an easy fight for Manny. The only true test would be Floyd Mayweather Jr, if he were to come out of retirement & take a tuneup fight & fight Manny after Manny destroys Hatton then that would be the fight of the decade. Who would win it depends how rusty Floyd would be.

its not who can beat manny! hes not willing to fight everybody. he want fight williams or Margarito because of the height difference and plus these guys will probably have a harder time than delahoya. because if the fight is at 147 or a catch weight around 143 or 144 these guys will swell back up around 20 pounds the night before the fight and will be a disqualified. so Truly i really don't see Margarito or williams a threat because of there size there just to big for catching welterweight. they want be able to rehydrate like they want to because it might be a limit which will cause them problems. cotto can make 143 and would have a difficult time hitting pacquiao hes just to fast on his feet and head for cotto. hatton will give him a little trouble but I think manny will take him in a decision. the only real threat is the slick defense and accurate punching for floyd mayweather jr. not saying floyd is the only one can beat him but the only person that manny will be willing to fight that can beat him. the fight will be huge so I do see mayweather taking this fight some time next year do to the huge amount of money involved.

At 135 - Only Juan Manuel Marquez has the chance of beating Pacquaio on points.

At 140 - Only Hatton can give him a good match-up.

At 147 - Damn, Pacquaio fought dela Hoya at 147 because Coach Freedie Knew that the Golden Boy can't pull the trigger. Due to size differencial, Pacquaio is at a disadvantage against the current champions at welterweight division especially against Margarito. But against Floyd, I will bet my entire savings for Pacquiao. After the fight Pretty Boy Floyd would not be so pretty anymore. lol.

At 147, I would say all the top contenders could beat Pacquiao. At 135, JMM, Juan Diaz, and Humberto Soto if he moves up. At 140: Ricky Hatton, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and so many more. There is alot of good competition and there's always someone that can beat the top guy but they haven't been "discovered" yet by the media.

There are lots to mention, however i think the dangers are on the Welterweight division. there are lots there: I personally dnt think Mosely could pull it off, but then there is Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams which recently went up a division but said could come down anytime for a fight, Cintron, Clottey, and dnt forget our current champ Antonio Margarito, any of these fighters are dangers to Manny in the Welter Weight division :)

hey ten points best answer :)

Maybe Floyd Mayweather Jr. at 140, but nobody else that light. At 147 it gets tougher and a lot good welterweights could give Manny trouble. Clotty, Cotto, Margarito and Mosley would be interesting and any of them could beat Manny.

Hats off to everyone who shared their thoughts, opinions and wisdom. Most of the responses exhibits profound knowledge in boxing. Nice and detailed explanation on why so and so would beat who. I wished all posters will answer questions the way you all did. This is not my question but I am taking this opportunity to express my feelings to everyone. Everytime I opened up a thread I get disappointed to the way they answer questions. Personal feelings should not take precedence over the issue. Thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

    At 135:

Juan Manuel Marquez is the only one who can give him fits at 135.

Humberto Soto can try to move up , but he wouldn't be able to handle Pacquiao at any weight. Pointless fight IMO. Pacquiao would handle Soto easily.

    At 140:

Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton. I heard rumors that this fight might be happening May 4th.

    Pacquiao beats Hatton convincingly.

Marquez said that he would fight Pacquiao at any weight, but I don't think he would be able to handle Pacquiao above 135. It will be interesting to see though. Pacquiao KO 7th round.

Kendall Holt- He lacks chin, Pacquiao would knock him out.

Ricardo Torres- caused Cotto some trouble, it should be an interesting fight. Pacquiao wins.

    At 147:

All of the top 5 welters. Cotto, Margarito, I'm not so sure about Mosley, Clottey, and even Berto, Kermit Cintron too.

I hope you also have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
