Do more people go to Church on Christmas if Christmas falls on a Sunday as opposed to any other day?

probably, Christmas is usually standing room only no matter what day it falls on. personally, I like midnight mass on Christmas Eve, just a personal preference but there are more people at that service despite regular sunday mass as well. it could however be bc there is only 1 midnight service on Christmas eve, and there are 3 services offered on sundays, so maybe its just bc everyone has to come at the one time.

At my church, the Christmas morning service is almost always poorly attended, regardless of what day it falls on. It's the late-night Christmas Eve service that really packs in the crowds. After staying up that late, most people just want to sleep in. If Christmas were to fall on a Sunday, the service would still just have a few people, because everybody would have gone to church on Christmas Eve.

My parents are actually pastors, so I have gotten to see the rise and fall of church attendance over the years. If Christmas falls on a Sunday, not really many people come. They come on Christmas Eve (if the service is available), but they stay home with family on Sunday.

In my experience people go to church christmas eve and open presents on christmas. If christmas happens to be a sunday, then the regular services have lower attendance than other sundays. As for christmas eve falling on a sunday or not i don't think it makes any difference.

    They tend to stay home.

My church which normally has two morning services only has one on a Christmas morning. The late Christmas Eve service is always packed no matter when it is.
