I am going to buy a G1 today is there anything bad about the phone?
I was torn between the G1 and the behold. I just want to know if there is anything negative about the phone.

The only thing bad might be the camera, because it is only 3.2mp vs. 5mp with flash on the behold. But the behold will not display full webpages.
Also, if you do a lot of web browsing, T-Mobile will institute a 10GB soft cap per month on all phones with 3G. After 10GB, the speed will be throttled down to 50kbps. They are doing this, on the belief that a few people might overload their network by tethering their G1 to their laptop for full web browsing.

The only thing I would say negative is probably the battery life can be better. It's not bad, but if you surf the web, play games, text, instant message, and all that stuff then the battery will drain like crazy. But the situation is to pay an extra back up battery. It cost me 10 bucks on ebay

I would say battery life is the main concern, as it is with the iPhone.
Improvements coming to the G1 early next year resolve the other main complaints:
Video Recording
FLASH support
CUT & PASTE within the browser
Ability to save attachments
On Screen Keyboard
