Is there another way of becoming a USAF officer without going to the Academy or College?
The reason I ask this is because I have a friend who is Civil Air Patrol and he says he going to become an officer by having connections to USAF officers. He has no high school diploma or GED and he dropped out of school.
I enlisted over two months ago and he keeps bragging about how hes going to be an officer and bossing me around.
I mean what the hell, I graduated High School and worked my *** off to get there and I go to enlist and he tells me this and he didn't even work hard for it.
Based on what I know there is no way he can become an officer based on the fact that hes a drop out.
Every time I try to tell him he cant be an officer, he gets mad and tells me that Im stupid and I dont know what Im talking about. He told me that he knows an officer that will get him in as an officer.
You guys all have good answers. I knew I was right, I cant wait to see his face once he finds out he cant be an officer.

He's full of sh*t. He can't even enlist without a high school diploma or a GED, let alone become an officer.
He has to have atleast a Bachelors to become an Air Force officer. The Air Force has some of the highest standards of any branch, so they're sure as hell not gonna make some little punk a$$ high school dropout into an officer. No way in hell

No, and like the others said you can not even join without a HS Diploma
With all the programs to become an Office, it all comes down to them helping you to get your College degree

Why argue with a fool?
Generally rather difficult to accomplish, as it requires your getting an advanced degree while in the USAF.
BTW, without a diploma your friend can't even get in, much less be an officer

Usually each branch of the military has a program for enlisted to pursue OCS (officer candidate school) as an enlisted personnel.

no 4 year degree, no commission. No HS diploma or GED, no enlisting.
the CAP is NOTHING like the real military.. he may have 'officer' rank in CAP, but it will NOT translate to the real Air Force.
