question about a possible atheist symbol? ?

I saw a symbol once that I believe was meant to represent atheism, but I haven't been able to find it again. it was the capital letter A with an infinity symbol instead of the cross piece. does anyone know the meaning of it?

Update:

I'm an atheist, and yes, there are symbols, such as the atom logo of the American Atheists association.

Update 2:

I believe in plenty of things, thanks, just no deities. it's not for you to decide what is fortunate or unfortunate for me, e citizen.

and Nick, I've met Jesús, he's an old co-worker of mine. a great guy. and respectful enough not to "reveal himself" to me.

the Jesús you know sounds like some kind of perv.

how profoundly arrogant of you to presume I don't know myself.

There are quite a few different ones, since we don't have an atheist pope.

We don't have a symbol. That may have been the logo for an individual club, band, or organization, but atheism does not have a symbol

    Is it this?

I think this has some tying in with Albert Einstein's beliefs. Though he wanted to believe in God, he could never do it.

His theory is expressed in the film Powder. Where Energy is the basic cause of everything, and is everything. And connects us all. Hence a picture of an Atom. The smallest thing they knew about in Einstein's time. Which is made up of energy.

Source(s): .. .. There is no universal symbol of atheism. And the only thing common between atheists, is being human, and a disbelief in a diety.

We have a symbol now? Can someone say "tax exempt status"?

It's probably a little atheist group, or something. In general, we don't have any symbol, and i'd be pissed if we did because i don't want to be involved in any group or organization, or generalization about atheists.

to be an atheist is to lack religious dogma. that includes symbols.

It's unfortunate that you are an atheist....a believer of 'nothing'. Why do you need a symbol for nothing? It's not as tho' there's hope in nothingness if it is symbolized?

  • Honest to Pete, there is NO "atheist symbol".
