Is censorship ethical?
This question is prompted by the new Yahoo screen that does not even allow me to use the term, "***** cat" in reference to my pet. By the way, "*****" is the official Yahoo rendition of "pu**y" as in "pu**y cat".

No.
It's not ethical, it's not right. Sure, it may wind up saving a few peoples feelings from being hurt, but that really shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Good for Yahoo. If I want to see profanity I will look for profanity (or talk about genitalia, or body parts or piercings or whatever, I would go there). Ethics has little to do with it IMO, it is more a view on decency.
If you want people not think you are an uneducated, childish, malcontent, in communicating with them, use the language that is not a distraction to the point or advice you are seeking.
It would be like talking to a judge who is dressed in a clown outfit. It would not change the ruling, but may distract from the issues.
Plus on-line stuff is always on the lookout of protecting people from forming incorrect assumptions.

its not you its the word in general ,, more than one person in here is under the age of 10,,they set standards and the computer program follows them
