2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIs free speech in the west going the same way as free speech in China?
As a conservative virtue, free speech is the last bastien of freedom in the western world. The Chinese have shut down google, and the only remaining symbol of freedom in China is that lone man standing in front of the tank. That man is truely the Bullfighter of the decade, and should be elected to the Bullfighters Hall of Fame!
5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoCan we induct this young man into the bullfighter's hall of fame?
A teenager who was gored by a bull in Maine is going to have the last laugh. His family shot the bull and plans to eat it.
Seventeen-year-old Durham resident Vinnie Huntington says he was rounding up the bull and a steer when the bull turned on him Monday night. He says the 1,800-pound (816-kilogram) bull gored him and flipped him.
He suffered dislocated shoulders, puncture wounds to his back, and bumps and bruises.
His mother and a neighbour intervened to save him.
Local station WMTW-TV says the teen hopes to be released from a hospital Thursday.
He says he'll participate in the feast. He says he's going to enjoy it.

2 AnswersNew South Wales (Sydney)1 decade agoShould I leave a tip when the waiter spills water all over me?
We had a mediocre meal at a fancy place in Kansas last night, and while seating us, the waiter managed to pour abut a quart of ice water all over the table. The run off soaked my clothes. Dinner was otherwise, acceptable. The waiter apologised once, and offered us a different table. Otherwise, there was no acknowledgement of the incident or an offer of a free drink or anything. The waiter did mess up our order, bringing us meals from another table (which we sent back...) before he finally got it right. The place was not busy. We were cold, wet, and uncomfortable throughout the meal. Should I have left a tip? If so, how much? (I did leave a tip, and I did not talk with the manager, although, in retrospect, I should have. We have eaten there before, and have had the same waiter before. I do not intend to go back.)
21 AnswersOther - Dining Out1 decade agoWill plans to sequester CO2 underground endanger the levels of atmospheric O2?
There are articles suggesting that one way to reduce greenhouse gases is to sequester CO2 in the form of dry ice deep underground. While this would certainly sequester some carbon, would it not also deplete O2 from the atmosphere? Wouldn't the overall process be: Oxidize hydrocarbons, capture the energy released and use it, capture the resulting oxidation product (CO2), bury it, thus reducing not only atmospheric CO2, but also O2?
