What do you think of the writing style of Tom Robbins?

Personally, I preferred his early works more than the recent ones, as they seemed less contrived. What do you think?

    Yes, he tries too hard to be "quirky".

    I think you're right.

    Preferred books like "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" and "Still Life with Woodpecker" more than, say, the newer "Jitterbug Perfume."
