How do I right click a one button mouse?

I have an iMac with a one button mouse. Is there a keyboard combination to do a right click?

On a Mac you need to press the Ctrl key BEFORE you click the mouse button. Macs are configured to use a two button USB mouse. You can pick up one really cheap from most second hand stores - Goodwill, Light House Mission etc. as they get donated complete systems or the odd keyboard, monitor or whatever. You you might want to get one new.

All Macs come equipped with Mighty Mouse to help set mouse buttons and menus. See http://www.macinstruct.com/node/66

"You will often see or hear references to a "Right-Click" on the Mac.

Right clicking usually brings up a context-menu of tasks you are likely to want to perform in the place that you right clicked.

This is an easy thing to do in Windows because a Windows mouse has a left button and a right button. But the Mac only has one button. So what can you do?

    * Hold down the Control Key (labeled 'ctrl' on the keyboard) and click the mouse or trackpad button.

    * Look for the gear. The gear shows a context-menu as well and likely has most of the same options you would get with a right-click

    * Buy a two-button mouse to use with your Mac. Any one will do. Then you have a left and a right button and all is perfect in the world.

    * You might already have a secret right button."
