I just got a 4 qt crock pot.?

I would love a recipe for maybe an appetizer so I can use it for christmas? any suggestion? I'm a fairly experienced cook so any recipe would be appreciated.

    This is Italian sausage and peppers, it is delicious:

    1.) Sizzle italian sausage (cut up into about 1 to 2 inches), once the sausage looks grazed, put into already hot crock pot

    2) throw in onions, butter, peppers (red, yellow, green bells), italian seasoning

    3) Will be think, but the bells will give off liquid, and so will the butter, cook for at least 4 hours

    Sloppy Joes for the family:

    1) left over steak, throw into crockpot

    2) bottle of KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce

    3) cook until meat falls apart with touch (yummy!)

    Have fun!

    Other ideas: chicken noodle soup, potato soup, bread puddings,etc.

    My friend makes this buffalo chicken wing dip that is fantastic. The link is below.

    For a regular recipe I make beef tips and noodles in the crock pot and the beef comes out very tender.

    1 - 1 1/2 lbs. beef tips

    1 can of beef broth

    2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (can be any cream soup if you don't like mushrooms)

    1 cup of mushrooms (optional)

    Set to low for 7-8 hours. Prepare egg noodles immediately before serving.

    Caponata-appatizer:

    1 medium eggplant-about 1 pound peeled and cut into ½ in pieces

    1 can (14 ½ oz) diced stewed tomatoes-with juices

    1 red bell pepper cut into ½ in pieces

    ½ cup medium hot salsa

    ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil

    2 tbsp capers-drained

    2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

    1 tsp dried oregano

    3 cloves garlic-minced

    1 pkg fresh basil cut into strips

    Toasted French or Italian bread slices

    Mix all ingredients in crock pot-except the basil, cover and cook on low 7-8 hrs or until veggies are crisp tender. Serve at room temp with bread.

    Chili Con Queso-appetizer:

    1 pd velveeta cheese-cut into cubes

    1 can 10 oz diced tomatoes with green chili’s-with liquid

    1 cup sliced green onions

    2 tsp ground corianders

    2 tsp ground cumin

    ¾ tsp hot sauce

    Green onion strips-optional

    Hot pepper slices optional

    Combine all ingredients except green pepper strips and pepper slices and mix until well blended. Cover and cook on low 2-3 hours or until hot. Garnish with green onion and pepper.

    let me congratulate you..i am getting a crock pot for christmas and i am so anxiously waiting for the big day.. so i know how thrilled you must be..just wanted to let you know your local area library is fiilled with many great crock pot cookbooks to check out and copy those recipes to put in a binder note book..as i do..have fun.. happy holiday's.

    Cocktail sausages in BBQ sauce or meatballs with grape jelly and soy sauce.YUMMY!
