How does the "Classical YA!" community feel about?
...the Youtube Symphony? Other than a lot of questions about where to print out the sheet music and participant directions there's been very little talk about the project as a whole. Any thoughts?
For those that don't know about the project here's the link which includes a performance of the Tan Dun composition by the LSO

I stumbled over it on YouTube the other day. I think it's a really neat idea. I'm thinking of trying out, in fact (violin). Although I have so many orchestral things going on (districts/regions/states/pit orchestra and all these other things) that I don't think I'll be able to devote much time to practicing for it. It's a very interesting idea though. But if I was in charge of it, I think I'd have the orchestra play a different piece. I don't know. I guess it'd connect better with people if the piece being played was a great symphony, such as Dvorak's 9th or Tchaikovsky's 5th. I think people might like those pieces more. But anyway, I think it's a really cool organization. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

It's an interesting concept. Classical music fans and YouTube tend to have a love/hate relationship. On one hand, YouTube only allows for very low quality recordings, and classical music, more than any other type, can be utterly destroyed by a poor quality recording. But on the other hand, it provides a forum for plenty of orchestral recordings that would otherwise not be exposed to the public. I personally link to YouTube videos constantly when I am answering questions about classical music. Either way though, I am glad to see such a public and well-known website as YouTube doing something to support classical music. I will say though, that if they expect this orchestra to instantly mesh, they will be in for an unhappy surprise. You can't just take talented people and instantly expect them to play as a group.
My only real problem with the thing though is that they don't have a position for us singers! Vocalists are people too!

HI!
well, when i first heard about the youtube symphony, i was really excited. i even printed out the second violin music, but i don't think i will audition because there is no way my parents will let me...oh well. im only in high school though, but i found the violin parts pretty easy...so i think they will probably take only those who express it the best (just in case you are auditioning). if you are auditioning, i say good luck and i hope it is fun!!!! =D

of direction some all of us is going to have a undertaking with it, as you reported 'gender-dysphoria isn't something to do with sexual orientation', and a M-F trans-woman who's attracted to adult males is in no way going to have seen herself as a gay guy, besides the reality that's what her ' physique' and society might have as quickly as indicated. whether, in case you certainly break it down into criminal and sociological words, many trans all of us is relatively 'gay' or 'lesbian' till now transitioning in case you look especially at gender without factoring contained in the intercourse the guy certainly sees themselves as. maximum trans people i be responsive to incorporate better than happy to be secure below this umbrella term, as they have won a majority of their help / acceptance from the LGBT community. truthfully contained while it comes to quite some F-M trans-adult males i be responsive to, they have stored themselves very on the threshold of the LGBT community even after transitioning, relatively than affiliate with the 'on the instant' community in many cases. of direction it fairly is merely my own observations and that i'm particular others will disagree totally with what i say and characteristic their very own viewpoints.
