No. Garth is attempting to CHANGE the Islanders, not wreck them. And change is never easy. Change stands for Choose Having A New Growth Experience.
There are many things that need to be taken into consideration with attempting to build a hockey team, and most of which we do not know from the press. Know that he wants the best for the team and the fans. And we will get there.
Ted was no real loss. He had lost interest. (of that, I can assure you!)
The Smyth trade would have worked out well, but for Smyth's own agenda.
Give this some time and you'll see Scott Gordon is an excellent coach and we'll have a damn good team. Just not this season.

No if anything he is what the Islanders need. He is rebuilding the team and getting rid of anyone that has no speed.

no. too many teams in NY wrecked'um. not enuff fans for all. not enough fans, not enough money, good players don't stay, etc.
