I really don't believe that the world will end. The whole "the sky is going to fall" act has happened numerous times before, and everyone is still here :)
Depending on your religion (or lack thereof ;), the "outcome" of the supposed end of the world in 2012 is different. For example, some Native Americans believe that there will be a "New Beginning." Some Christians believe that Christ is coming back and making heaven on earth (or something to that effect. Please forgive me if I'm wrong:), because God promised he would never destroy the world again. This was shown when after the great flood, a rainbow appeared. Again, I'm struggling to recover any memories xD
I found this: "Presented in this video are some photos of what many people call Nibiru and Planet X. They are very real and my evidence is pure fact. What many people do not realise, is that Nibiru is infact a dark star, about half the size of our Sun. It has a number of large planets and moons orbiting around it, one of which is Planet X. It's kind of like a mini solar system. These objects are heading towards us, as they have done in the distant past. These objects will become visible to every human on Earth within the next couple of years. Some time around 2012/13, these objects will be closer to us than our own Sun, and will dominate the daytime and nighttime sky. Another fact many people do not know about, is that Planet X is an inhabited planet. The US government knows this, and are infact in contact with them because this is not just a catastrophic event for us, it is for them aswell. Many people can be saved, but actions need to be taken NOW. If we leave it to the last minute, it will be to late. Within the next few years, nobody will be able to hide the fact these objects are heading towards us, because they will be seen by everyone and will grow larger as they approach us. Global panic is unavoidable and this event is unavoidable."
Notice the spelling and grammatical mistakes :/
As a side note, I recommend: http://www.crystalinks.com/nibiru.html for historical references, the science behind Nibiru, and the meanings of everything. It's long, but it's also helpful and informational.
Anywho, I wouldn't bet any money on anything directly above quotations. It sounds a little like a crappy SciFi movie plot to me.

I hope I answered all your questions :3

Reading Nostradamus is like reading the Bible, you can find anything you want. He didn't write that the world would end in 2012. People are interpreting what he wrote that way b/c the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. The producers at the History Channel are just trying to make money and drum up publicity for their shows.
Here's some links to read more about it:

Just because something is on TV doesn't make it real.
It's stupid that people think the world will end in 2012 because of some stupid thought that since the Mayans couldn't make a calendar that stretched on forever the world must be ending in 4 years.
This is just Y2K+12. Propaganda.

They'll let us know if it is true. But I think it is irresponsible for people NOT in the "know" spreading unproven theories about a planet hitting the earth. This is as irresponsible as shouting fire" in a fully occupied theater. When the real experts start talking about it, maybe then one should listen.

the history channel is a huge disappointment. You get better history programs on PBS. History Channel emphasizes a lot of coverage on nonsense like 2012,Nostradamus and the history of the hotdog.

That IS bull. I mean just listen to that. How could anyone believe it?

Is it true? No, but it is good television. It made you ask this question, right?
