Lost my birth control!?

I think I accidentally threw my birth control away. I take it for heavy periods. I think I had about a week left. The trash man has already come and gone, so if it's in there...it's gone for good. What do I do? I just know without it I'm going to break out even worse than normal and my period will be heavy like it was two years ago...what do I do?

I don't think that there is much that you can do. I guess just tough it out. Start your next pack at the regular time.

You need to get another pack of pills and start taking them right away.

Though this does depend on where you were in your pack of pills. If you had only a week left, that would be the week of inactive pills - lucky you, you don't even have to take those! that's when you should begin your period. Just skip the 7 days of pills, let your period come and start your next pack.

If it was a week of active pills and the following week of inactive, then you should just start taking another pack. You may have spotting because your cycle will be longer, but this should prevent you from experiencing the breakouts and heavyness of your period.

If you're not sure whether you're missing the active or inactive pills, your best bet is to just start taking a new pack. As I said before, spotting may occur, but you'll avoid the heavyness of your period and the breakouts.

    Good luck.
