First of all, I agree with Palin-Jindal2012...we need to stop attacking others just because they've got a different point of view. What we need to do instead, is to get more familiar with the Bible that we say we believe. And we need to show the world how His Word works in and through us. If the world sees how God makes a difference in a human life, that would show them more than anything else we could do. Christmas isn't just about a specific day. Everyone knows that Jesus wasn't born on Christmas day. Anyone who'd done any study knows that the Catholic church wanted to give the pagan converts a suitable replacement for their winter celebration by making it all about Jesus' birthday. While I can't agree with their logic, I do agree that Christians need to replace their past sinful activities with ones more suitable to those who walk as Jesus walked. God has required of His people that they worship Him first. And since He came to earth in the body of Jesus (fully God and fully man), He requires us to worship Him fully and completely. Whether His birthday is October or April isn't as important as the attitude of our hearts. Just like there are those who choose to worship Him on Saturday and not Sunday. The whole thing is, DO you worship Him? And how do you worship Him. That's the whole purpose of this day, is to celebrate the FACT that He was born for a purpose, fulfilled His purpose, and asks His children to follow Him.
I also like what Justgetitright said and it bears repeating...
"If we want to thank Jesus for what he has done for us we can start by obeying the greatest of the 10 commandments, Love one another as God loves us.
How ironic that for century's this was the greatest nation on earth but since the mid 1960's we have began to remove God from our country, we can barely even say his name. Merry Christmas has been replaced by Happy Holidays, Nativity scenes have been outlawed because it offends some people this nation is close to denying Jesus and God and look at what is happening around us, the economy is a ruin unemployment is rising and peoples homes are being lost.
It is time to invite God back into our country and into our lives, it is time for all believers to answer back to those that no longer wish his presence and start doing what is right.
Jesus died so that our sins could be forgiven, let us all strive to sin no more, once we get our moral values corrected our economic problems will take care of themselves.
Thank you Justgetitright for getting it right. We've allowed certain groups to just run right over the top of us, being too lazy to rise up and say NO! We don't even know our own representatives, nor do we write to them when we oppose a bill that's being considered for passage that would change things drastically. If we seriously want to know how things got so bad in our society, just follow history. Every time Jesus or God has been pushed aside, a little bit more was allowed to take Their places in society. This country became great BECAUSE of God. It was built upon His principles & laws. And because He's been kicked out of our public schools, the evidence that He once was the driving force behind the founding of our country has been removed from our children's history books. So they no longer are able to read about where the foundations of their country had come from. It's true, whether or not some of you believe it. I happen to have a very old public school history book, dated in the early 1900's, that was actually taught in our local public schools. I have since passed it onto a homeschool group, who are allowing their kids to study it, and passing it onto the next generation. And that, folks, is how we can thank Jesus for His wonderful gift to us. Pass it on. Live it. Know it. Love it. Keep it. <*)))><

Be kinder. I was driving home the other night when my car started to sputter. There was snow packed on the sides of the road so I had no where to pull off. I couldn't go over 20 mph on what is normally 40 mph. I knew it was an inconvenience for the people behind me and I was looking to pull off the moment I could. About 200 feet ahead I saw my opportunity. People were honking, flipping me the bird and trying to pass me. Passing me was extremely dangerous as the road is very busy and it was rush hour. I pulled off the road and the car was dead. I had to sit in the car for over 40 minutes waiting for my wife to arrive.
Oh, also it was zero degrees. Just remember that if someone is doing something really unusual (driving 20 in a 40) it may be because they are having a problem.
P.S. I am that guy behind you when, as we all have, are daydreaming when the light turns green and he DOESN'T start blowing his horn immediately. I live by the five second rule.
Merry Christmas too everyone on here. Even the ones who report me when they disagree!!!

Instead of attacking Duocare: we as Christians should pray for her..
What we can do to thank Him, is go be the light of the world and spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth, stop making Christmas about materialism and make more about Christ, stop calling it X-mas, stop saying Happy Holidays (There are a ton of Holidays in February and we name them and don't say Happy Holidays then), stop watering down the Gospel (Rick Warren, Rob Bell, Doug Padgitt, et al), and last but far from least is remember the Reason for the Season is Jesus..

No hazard devoid of Jesus: i comprehend you won't are attentive to it yet you reported an fairly reliable factor. You pronounced that it is the day "we've chosen". do no longer you discover it quite unusual that God could let us know each thing with regard to the loss of existence of His Son, day, date, time, even Jesus' age to the 0.5 365 days yet no longer whilst His Son grow to be born? the entire factor of Jesus coming to earth interior the 1st place grow to be to die for us, to no longer be born for us. To have fun a pretend date for the start of the Christ is against God. If something is fake, that's misguided. No human can justify it no count what they say approximately it, no count what they attempt to do or say to make it genuine. It basically isn't so. This social gathering grow to be extra approximately via pagan ability and it basically isn't genuine. consequently that's against God.

People claiming that Christ Jesus was not born in December are correct. It's because of the catholic church as to why so many believe it's in December.
You have to go by a Jewish calender and Luke chapter 2 to understand when Jesus was born. Jesus was actually born in either April or May.

Not get caught up in the 'secular side' of Christmas, such as gift giving and the like, but rather focus upon the present that we were offered in Jesus' birth - and thank God for it while we share time with the ones that we love.
Merry Christmas!

We should be Catholic or Protestant or Orthodox. That's how we can thank Him for the reason He came to earth to save us and if we mentally chose against Him, then we will be in Hell's fire in damnation. I can't say for others, but the Truth is Jesus Christ, He was the only Prophet who said he was the WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE and another comment "NO ONE CAN COME TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME." So that means when you think you are praying to God the Father trying to be in unity with the Jews and Muslims(Islams), then you are doing a disservice to God the Father cause he said we should pray the Lord's Prayer. Can you get any Jew or Muslim to pray the Lord's Prayer with you as a Christian??? If they can't there will be no unity. We have to bring the Jew and Muslim UP to Jesus Consciousness and the Reality is all this tolerance mess that has been going around has none nothing to better the reality of Jesus but to tear down the Christian faith.
Wars that we have are caused by selfish men. We should send that many missionaries out to those countries as we do military. For we are fighting against the principalities of evil, Satan's followers. And there is what we have to accept. If we want to stop the war, we need to convert the people to Christ's thinking. He was kind, he was poor, he was giving and he spoke nicely. He never belittled anyone, nor was rude or put them down. I realize that there are alot of Yahoo teenagers in here as well as youth that like to come in here just to sprew venom and untruths as well as mean words.
If we are to win the war, we have to speak like Christ. And to thank Jesus is to evangelize to everyone, and not be ashamed of being persecuted for it.
Jesus wasn't born actually on December 25th. But we superimposed His birthday on a pagan day to eliminate the pagan day, for we are to PUT ON CHRIST and all things become anew with Jesus.
And if it wasn't for his Resurrection we wouldn't be celebrating his birth. So if we truely realize that Jesus came to save us He had to die, be buried and then rise from the dead. And the Christians celebrated the Resurrection first before they celebrated his Birthday.
Just as we celebrate our baptismal day and confirmation day along with our birthday, for to celebrate our life being born in Christ is what matters.
When people don't celebrate their birthdays as the JW's do, they are proclaiming that their birth has no purpose and they are saved and that they are as good as a bug on the ground. That's not what Jesus want, he wanted us to be reborn into Him, and that's by a Christian Baptism.
Merry Christmas, Keep Christ in Christmas.
Christ is Born, Glorify Him.
Happy Ephiphany to my Orthodox Brethren too.

Put he and his father back in the school system, the govt, etc.etc. follow the teachings, and make sure young children know him!!! He really needs to be in the Senate, White House, etc.etc. by not letting him in, our nation will suffer the consequences.
GOD BLESS OUR NATION, AMEN!!

practice kindness to our fellow human beings, without expecting anything in return. have compassion. rejoice in life. recognize that life is short and was meant to be enjoyed to the fullest. sound advice for all even if you don't believe in christ's message.
