My 9 day old is having trouble with gas and I need some advice?
My baby girl is very hard to burp at some times. Usually at her night feeding. We are using Dr. Brown bottles because I was told they were the best for gas. She is on Simalac Advance Shield. Is there a different formula I should use or should I be using a different bottle. I just want her to be happy and gas does not make her happy!

Dr. Brown bottles are good, you may also want to try the Playtex VentAire bottles, we used those for our first son who was VERY gassy. We used the Enfamil Gentlease formula, which turned him into a new baby. It worked great. Also, when he'd have a colic spell, we had some Little Tummies Colic Drops on hand, and those worked great as well. Good luck!

Gas is usually the result of trapped air. I see you're already buying bottles to cut down on that. Make sure when you feed her the bottle is tilted up enough that air doesn't get in her system, yes, even if you have the special bottles. Have you tried giving her some Mylacon drops? They are otc, and really really help. Also try sitting her up more when you feed her, and holding her in that position for about 20 minuets after you feed her. If not, give your pedi a call. That's what they are there for. Good Luck!! Happy New Years!!!

Make sure you are burping. We as well used Dr browns and also breastfed.
The Dr browns bottles are the only ones we use. Burp atleast every oz, but if Baby is really gassy try every half oz.
My son does not like the over the shoulder burp. He prefers sitting on your lap, with your hand supporting the chin.
He burps best with his left side being rubbed, not patted.
The public health nurse told us that if baby doesn't burb within 1 minute to resume feeding and try again after.
Also try to keep her at a 45 degree angle.
If he is really gassy I give him OVOL, which my Dr ok'ed.

formulation commonly takes a mutually as to get used to. this is excellent to %. a formulation and carry on with it. many times you will locate that in the time of a few days issues will start to cool down. Wind is regular and you will likely have the undertaking of colic to handle. Projectile vomiting is on the subject of wind too and so is vomiting. Constipation is likewise a ordinary situation yet mutually as you nevertheless have some breast milk you are able to attempt combining the feeds which will help to alleviate the constipation.

It's probably mostly the formula. I would definitely ask your baby's doctor what kind you should change to. That's what we had to do for my little brother and he had very little gas just day or two after switching to a different brand! Congrats on your little one! :)

Give her gas drops before feedings. After eating, pump her legs ("bicycle"), hold her upright and rub belly & pat it, then put her over your shoulder and pat her back. You can also try Gripe Water. Our baby is 6 weeks and we've been using it 5 weeks. I also used it with my son. IT IS A MIRACLE WORKER. I LOVE GRIPE WATER. Good Luck!

lay her on her back and rub her belly
or take her legs and very gently press then in her belly
or sit her up on your leg and put your finger and thumb around her chin and burp her that way
i almost had to bend my son in half to burp
good luck
