I am new to the HD TV world. What is the best brand to buy and are they any good sales?

Looking to spend up to approx. $1,500 on a HD TV and the size probably about 42”.

I hear 1080 is the best but other than that I don’t know anything.

Any recommendations?

Also anywhere having go sales nationwide (i.e. Target, Best Buy, etc)?

    make sure it's 1080p and also ask if it's a 120 hz because 120 hz will offer very sharp picture with fast movements at 120 hz and a good contrast ratio. With 1500 dollars you should be able to find that , just ask at best buy with all the features I mentioned to get the best picture.
