is christmas bad overall?

Bad in what way? The day is what you make it. To billions of people xmas is just another day. I don't go nuts and buy presents for relatives that I don't see. Its just me and my mom, so we buy each other a nice card and a nice present. I don't think you have to go nuts and into debt to have a nice holiday.

To millions its just another day. To million others its a day where people think of others and do good for others. To others its a day when christ was born.

Its not bad at all, because it bring people together. Every major religion has atleast 2 or 3 events that bring people together.

Which means it should have a good social influence on you and make you emotionally feel better. Unless you are lonely, then it would have a negative effect, but at the same time, those that wouldnt be nicer normally will be nicer, thus an oppuntunity to make new friends.

Christmas is AMAZING even though you spend tons of money and have to buy lots of presents... Christmas is awesome cause you get to

give presents to your family

get cool stuff from them

celebrate and have fun

rejoice over Jesus' birth

Who's going to deny a good time with family and friends... Why would that be bad?

What it has BECOME is not good.

I think it is perfectly fine to have a joyous holiday when you share small gifts with loved ones, and send messages of peace to people you miss - but this gaudy commerce-driven over indulgence Christmas that Americans have created is ugly and commercial and empty.

christmas is awesome! it is a great holiday! its a time for family, friends, and giving! =]
