Christian by definition received the atonement because he realized he was a sinner and God is a righteous God therefore he needed a Savior.

So for a Christian to decide he does not need a savior he would have to decide either he is righteous or God is not.

The only other possiblity is he never was a Christian to begin and never believed he needed the atonement.

Edit to Tigras, If it is indeed your claim that you were Christian then you agreed that you are a sinner and God is righteous and that Jesus atoned for your sin..Now if you did not agree with this you were never a Christian.

If you did agree with this then you had to of changed your mind and ecided you were righteous without Christ or God would overlook your sin... This isn't complicated Christians depend on the atonement or they are not Christian.

I read Bible both old testament and new testament. I read Ali Sina articles why he so hate with Muslim.

Is that true about the article?

I ask muslim friend and they answered it's not true, and I ask my Christian friend, and they answer maybe yes it's true.

I read a lot of book about Islam from Islam experts including articles from Billy Graham, Dr. Ernest C. Colwell, Toby Lester, Michael Cook, and Samuel M Zwemmer.

But I was stuck on the Samuel M. Zwemmer that said "The chief factor in this problem, however, is the character of Islam itself as a theistic faith... The strength of Islam is in its tremendous and fanatical grasp on the one great truth - monotheism."

I knew how great Samuel M. Zwemmer, but he should not say like this on his article! and That's why I started to studying about Islam deep and deeper and finally maybe God opened my heart to accept Islam as my religion now.

The concept of the trinity was so confusing and makes no sense to me. Also neither did the whole Jesus(pbuh) had to die thing. None of it made sense. I also as a young child was told that there is only one god. As I got older and studied I saw the logical answers in Islam. In the bible God says he is not a God of confusion and when you tell Chriatians that you are confused by the trinity they say "Well, you just gotta belive, have faith." Even in the bible it says to search out the truth for yourself, so I did and Islam is the most loving, peaceful religion that I know. the concepts in Islam far out way christianity in rightgeous living and kindness to others. Christianity has too many gaps and I got tired of filling them with confusion. Islam has taught me to love my mother despite her many abuses and to be patient and love others, to want for others what I want for myself.

WHY? Because I wanted to please God more than Man.

Trading one man-made system for another. They're still deluded by fables, fairy tales, and rules made entirely to suit men.

The problem is: now that they're Muslim, they can't convert to another religion because the penalty for leaving Islam is DEATH.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy_in_Islam

"The four major Sunni Madh'hab (schools of Islamic jurisprudence) and the Twelver Shi'a Jafari madhab agree that a sane adult male apostate must be executed."

That's what the Mafia does too. Once you join the "family", the only way out is death. Not very peaceful if you ask me.

You are Muslim because you were born into it. You even said so yourself in one of your answers. Seems like you're trying to toot your own horn. Hooray for PRIDE.

    LOL!@#!#@%

  • Its a long story really as it was a gradual process but thanks for asking :)

    The gist of it:

The trinity never made logical sense, especially as the Lord's prayer was directed to God himself. I was thus still searching for answers and Truth. I found what I was looking for with Islam....Oneness of God.

The sublime Truth from God touched my heart from the majestic beauty of the Qur'anic verse. Also, there is science in the Qur'an that was not known in the world at the time of revelation. Also, Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wa salaam) was unlettered....he could neither read nor write. All in all to me it was clearly divine penmanship. I had read a few Sufi texts, and also poetry, that originally brought me to the Qur'an.

It is interesting that Americans love the poetry of RUMI, as they find inspiration in that such as reaches the heart and makes one feel love for the Beloved (God)....now that is known. What they obviously do not realise or are in denial about is that Jalaluddin Rumi was a Muslim first and foremost!!.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” --- Jalaluddin Rumi

"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error:... " [Qur'an 2:256] - to me this is profound. We cannot be made to believe, it has to come from the heart. Islam is indeed the path of the heart. Sufi treatises cover this nicely :)

Truth stands out clear if you keep an open mind and heart. If one keeps prejudice in their heart, then that is something else. Falsehood, arrogance, self-pride, conceit, self-righteousness, along with the more widely accepted evils (e.g hatred, jealousy) tarnish the heart. Thus the Truth (divine from God) cannot be reflected on the mirror of the heart.

Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alaihi wa salaam) said "There is a polish for everything that takes away rust; and the polish for the heart is the remembrance of God".

"Dear friend, your heart is a polished mirror. You must wipe it clean of the veil of dust that has gathered upon it, because it is destined to reflect the light of divine secrets." Abu-Hamid Al-Ghazali

In Islam, the simplicity is that God is all there is, none exists but He and from that....there is no god but God. This is sublime. It makes sense to one who sees non-existence as being dark and void of divine blessing. But God blessed us with the divine breath (created in His image). The breath that we have been blessed with, that is divine will return:

"and never call upon any other deity side by side with God. There is no deity save Him. Everything is bound to perish, save His [eternal] self. With Him rests all judgment; and unto Him shall you all be brought back. " [Qur'an 28:88] - Asad transl.

"And call not, besides Allah, on another god. There is no god but He. Everything (that exists) will perish except His own Face. To Him belongs the Command, and to Him will ye (all) be brought back." [Qur'an 28:88] - Yusuf Ali transl.

    Thanks for asking :)

    May peace be with you.

    Take care..

@djmantx.....God is my Saviour. I trust in God to judge me as to whether I was ever true to my earlier beliefs, but thank you..Allahu alem....only God knows...only God knows what is in the heart of each and every one of us. Islam allows me to have a direct relationship with God, and hope of forgiveness from him direct, without any intermediaries or intercession, as He is the All-Mighty, All-Merciful One. Now that is a beautiful thing in itself... all praises to Allah... subhana wa ta'ala.......God...Glorious and Exalted is He. May peace be with you.

2nd edit @ djmantx. Dear... I prefer not to dwell on what I used to believe and prefer not to say, as I will leave all judgement up to God himself. I cannot claim to be righteous, as I am merely a sojourner on the way to God. I am lowly. I trust in God to guide me as he allows me. I hope of his forgiveness...He is the All-Merciful, All-forgiving One. I don't want to sound arrogant to say I have felt forgiveness, but it is a blessing to be heart-felt and appreciated at certain stages of life. All comes from Him. If a person says to you he forgives you for something...that is from God for all is from Him. You over-complicate things dear djmantx....just follow your heart. Insha'Allah God will help you more and more.

Sorry about the edits dear spiderzan as I know this is not part of the Q or answer...

Source(s): Am just a sojourner on the Sufi (from the root Safa...meaning pure.... Islam) path of Love insha'Allah and alhamdulillah ..
