I have raised many kinds of hunting dogs. I have had great coon hunting experiences with all of 1-4 & would say the walkers were always the most reliable. They're also good for running & hunting fox or deer. Never had a Weimaraner, but have always admired the breed..

Irish setters are beautiful, but for birds, my preference is the English setter... love em. German shorthairs are good too, but I've seen a few scattered brained ones. I won't go into my troubles with the Brittany spaniels, but must say, I didn't have much luck with them.

A few others I would want, to have all my hunting bases covered, are a couple good rabbit beagles...(nothing more gratifying then hearing them run that rabbit back around to ya) a beautiful Labrador for duckin' & loyal companion.
