Can you jump start a car using a battery charger?
The battery in my car has gone flat and I am having a hell of a time trying to get hold of someone to jump start me.
I was wondering if I can jump start my car using one of the battery chargers you see in places like Argos and Halfords for about £30.00.
If not jump start it, at least charge it and then have the car working again.
I dont know how capabilities of these chargers.
The battery doesnt seem dead because I can use the remote central locking, the lights and the radio, there just doesnt seem to be enough power to turn the engine over.
I believe its just died a bit because I was away and the engine wasnt turned over for about 2 weeks.

You may yet be able to save this battery. The charger won't JUMP it, you will have to remove the battery and charge if for a few hours, then start the car, and run it for a good half hour, with no electrics on. Better yet, take it for a drive, but not if it is raining and you need wipers and lights...
Booster-Packs are what start cars with flat-batteries, and they can create a fire risk.
The low-current electrics would still work, they don't draw much at all from the battery.
Don't leave you car sat so long again!

Don't like attitude of Black Panther. I am 72 yrs old woman with no help from anyone. I had to learn things on my own. I hope my battery charger will charge up my truck, since I really need to go to the store. Dog and cats don't want excuses and I get hungry too!

The charger does not have enough amperage to start a car by itself - some are designed to provide a boost of 50 or 100 amps or more, which may get you car started. A starter motor will draw 300 to 600 amps for a few seconds.
Make sure the connections to your battery are very clean.

A simple battery charger is designed simply to charge the battery, if you try to jump the battery with it the chances are you will break it! There are more expensive chargers that will jump the car however. You just have to expect to pay at least double your budget!

If you're shorter than others people and you'd to find a method to also things out somehow then you definitely need certainly to have a look at the Vert Shock system by Adam Folker you will discover here https://tr.im/Jf0Do .
The key difference between Vert Shock and the other jump applications comes down to the reality that you will maybe not need to do loads and a lot of getting or to make use of large weights.
Vert Shock lets you workout without wanting a fitness center or buying loads to use the program advertising this really is way the program is the greatest on the market.

two weeks is not really long for a car to sit so if the battery is the problem then it probably needs replaced
you can't jump it with the charger but you can try to charge the battery to full capacity and then start the car

No. It will only trickle charge and will take at least 5 hours to put sufficient power into the battery to start your motor.
Buy a new 12v battery - preferably a 'high-powe'r version which costs slightly more than a standard battery.

I'd say if it the charger doesn't have a "engine start" or similarly labeled setting then charging it would be your best bet. Make sure your battery terminals are tight and clean while you're there.
