Make a solution of water and baking soda. 1 tbsp per cup of water. This neutralizes the battery acid. Coke is an acid and will not neutralize. Pour this slowly on the battery. Let it bubble, use a toothbrush, careful not to splash. Rinse and repeat. Make sure you do this on bare ground.

Add distilled water to the battery if it's not permanently sealed. Then spray a little corrosion block type sprat on the terminals and cable ends.

I don't recommend disconnecting and removing the battery because you may need a radio code to get your radio working again. If you have the code then by all means remove battery. Clean the cables and terminals with a wire brush.

    Corrosion Battery

Sounds like the battery cables are still dirty. Try rubbing some steel wool around the battery posts and the inside of the connectors on the cables. If that fails, try having someone boost you with jumper cables. If the car starts, it's your connections. Your other problem is you have a Ford Focus. Last I heard it had more recalls than any other newly released vehicle. Fords in general are a very poor investment, which is why a used one is so cheap.

Spray water on battery with a hose, then put some baking soda on there, let it sit for a few seconds (its eating up the corrosion). Then simply wash it off. Always worked for me.

Damn Deva...for a deva you don't know your cars.

    1) Take a coca cola and pour it on it. Clean it up with a towl.

    or (and better)

Disconnect the cable batteries using a wrench. Take a brush and clean off the corrosion. Once done, put a very small amount of vaseline around the connectors. This will help insulate the connection and prevent corrosion.

You can get battery terminal cleaner at any auto parts store, you can also do a fairly decent job by just taking the car to a car wash and wash the corrosion off with a power wand.

Get a 8 oz glass of coke and a double shot of green label Jack Daniels. Mix it up and pour it on terminals. Wait 22 minutes and rinse off.

to permanently remove corrosion use a maintenance free battery .a little bit expensive but nocorrosion u dont have to put water it last longer compare to acid battery.

  • don't use the pop or baking soda if it gets into the battery it ruins it lots of water from a hose and a old tooth brush or wire brush works great

put a little Vaseline on them when done to keep them clean
