Monroe.. going from 14G to 16G?
I have a monroe piercing, I've had it for about 3 months and I want to switch it out. I currently have a 14G, which is the labret stud used after I first had the piercing. I would like to go with something smaller, i'm certain that it'll close up a bit if I switch to a 16G from a 14G. Outside of not being able to use 14G labrets anymore, would their be any other complications with switching the sizes?

Hey, since the piercing is still fairly new changing the sizes won't be a big deal. It will shrink to the 16g just fine.
I did this with my lip piercing and didn't have any problems with it.
The only issues I can think of is, if you want to wear a clear retainer, I'm pretty sure most only come in 14g. That is the average size at least.
Hope this helps!

Most belly buttons are pierced at a 14 gauge, so start there and if you like smaller jewelry then go with the 16 gauge
