  • Bringing a new dog with behavior problems into a home with a dog with no behavior problems?

I have a 2 yr old 6lb female chihuahua, she's not aggressive, she's properly socialized, she's quiet, potty trained.. aka perfect.

My mom is moving in with me and she has a 4yr old, male 15lb chihuahua/terrier mix. He's a lot of work. He is food aggressive, toy possessive and extremely yappy. He's coming from a house to an apartment so I know he won't be used to the noise. He is a "dominant" type, where he does everything from peeing on things to trying to bite to get his way both with humans and other dogs. He's gone through several trainings.. this just seems to be his personality. Don't get me wrong, he's not all bad.. but he's bad for an apartment and he's not good for being apart of a two dog household, yet, this is the situation that he's now in.

My dog is a bit mild because of an incident with a larger puppy at a dog park. I don't want him to ruin her confidence, her personality or for his bad traits to rub off on her.

My question is, how can I protect my dog and her sanity? What is the best way for the initial introduction? (Yes, the dogs know each other but haven't been alone together). How can I keep her behavior the way it is since I won't be able to control his? Please.. any ideas! Thank you!!

  • Deceased relative's property with outstanding balance?

An older relative passed away two years ago. He was sick for some time and lived with two of his adult children who assisted with his day to day care. HIs home was NOT paid off and there is still an amount due to the finance company.

His adult children are still living in his home, paying the mortgage as if they are him.

He did not leave a will unfortunately, he only verbally stated that they could either keep the house or sale it.

What is the proper procedure for this type of situation? I'm sure what they are doing is illegal although i'm also just as certain that they have no idea what to do. They certainly wouldn't be approved for the home loan, but have been paying on time and regularly all of the bills. Now they are scared to leave because of this situation.

    My questions are:

    1. How do they get out of this situation?

    2. Is there anyway for them to keep the home?

    3. Are they facing jail time or fines for staying in the home?

    4. What happens if they simply move out?

    Thanks!!

  • Saw a mouse in my apartment.. how to humanely get rid of it?

So.. I saw a tiny little mouse in my apartment. I obviously need him or her gone.. as they carry disease and breed like crazy. However, while they can't live in my house.. it doesn't mean they can't live. How do I get rid of it without killing it? My landlord wants to have someone come and put poison down. I'm against this for a few reasons.

    1. I don't want to kill the mouse, I just want him/her gone

    2. I have small dogs, I don't want to have them eat the poison

There has to be another option? Anyone? Help?

  • Person trying to use a spell or invoke a curse to harm someone... details inside?

Okay, I have an aunt. She is in her late 40s and a mom of three but behaves as if she is much younger. She has many personality problems, but hasn't been diagnosed and refuses to seek out any help. In short, she carries herself like a 16 yr old spoiled brat who wants everything anyone else has. She gossips, starts trouble and keeps around with bad company and negative energy.

Lately, a lot of bad things have been happening to those of us trying to interfere not only for her sake but for the sake of her children as well. But no one paid any attention to this as a relation to her.

This past weekend, I see an envelope at her home full of hair, buttons, and snippets of fabric while dropping off her young daughter who was with me for the week. I casually ask her about it and she states she collected this from a co-worker. In short, she is trying to do some sort of spell to injure this lady.

    SO, here are my questions.

    1. Is it possible for her to use these personal items to injure someone?

    2. How can we protect ourselves (me and other relatives) from whatever spells she is working on.

I'm a HUGE mythology and folklore geek. And I know what things are spoken of but are they actually possible?

    THANKS!

  • Dog and Human Winter Activities?

I'm looking for something to do with my dog in this cold winter weather. Unfortunately, she's a small chihuahua and often times its too cold for her to be outside long. Walks are pretty much out. So she's not getting a lot of mental stimulation/socialization that she would get from walking, meeting new dogs, playing outside, new smells, etc...

So i'm looking for somewhere I can take her to interact and play. Not a daycare as those are for the dogs only and I want to be there with my dog. Something similar to a dog park, but indoors so that its warm.

Any ideas/suggestions? I'm in the Chicagoland area.

    Thanks!!

  • Microsoft Visio Organization Charts question about formatting?

I want to add an image to the background of the individual boxes. I'm trying to indicate which positions are located in what specific part of the world by use of flags with a 80% transparency.

I am aware of the right click to insert a picture option and I want to reserve this for photos of the current employees in each position.

I am also aware of how to insert an external picture, but then it is no longer a part of the individual box and when I move a group.. i.e. manager and direct reports the picture stays in the old location as opposed to moving with the group.

Anyone know how I can use an image for a background instead of just being able to fill the background with one solid color?

    Thanks!

  • Monroe.. going from 14G to 16G?

I have a monroe piercing, I've had it for about 3 months and I want to switch it out. I currently have a 14G, which is the labret stud used after I first had the piercing. I would like to go with something smaller, i'm certain that it'll close up a bit if I switch to a 16G from a 14G. Outside of not being able to use 14G labrets anymore, would their be any other complications with switching the sizes?

  • I'm looking for an excel formula, help pls?

    Hello all,

I'm looking for a formula in excel.

I have a spreadsheet, each row is it's on bit of information not related to the row above or below it. Each row contains a column specifically for last status update, where the person is supposed to then add the date that they modified the row.

I would like a formula that updates the date whenever someone makes any modifications to any specific row only.

I.E., if Row 5 is modified, then column A in row five only will update to reflect the date modified. If the person saves and closes the file without touching any other rows... column A will not update for any more rows.

    Sounds like anything that exists?

  • Monroe piercing question about healing process?

Okay, so I've had my piercing for about 3 weeks now and I'm wondering how to tell if it's still healing properly.

It was normal on day one. The next 3 days it swelled a bit and was a bit uncomfortable (likely due to the swelling). I kept ice on it and took an occasional tylenol, and no more problems.

Then, it started to emit a light brown (not sure of the color, lol) thin fluid that would occasionally crust around the piercing opening. I've been told this is normal. It did that for about a week or two. Now, it's still emitting a fluid, that's slightly darker in color and a bit thicker in consistency.

Is this normal or should I be worried?

    Random information...

It's not red, it's not swollen, it doesn't smell funny.

For cleaning, as advised per my piercer, I'm using nothing, lol.

I rinse 3-4 times a day with a non alcoholic mouthwash, and I wash my piercing in the shower with aveeno. I also clean the "crusties" from around it occasionally with hydrogen peroxide.

    Advice please?

    Thanks!

  • Silverfish in an apt I moved into THIS WEEK!!!?

I just moved into a new apartment, this week. Why, you ask? Because my last apartment flooded and the landlord didn't want to fix it. Now I move from the city to the burbs.. from a shady broke landlord to an apartment community and lo and behold.. I HAVE BUGS!

After much research online, I've found out that they're silverfish.

    1. Do they bite?

    2. Are they harmful/poisonous to humans/pets?

    3. Any way to get rid of them?

    4. Can I legally break a lease because of them?

I've seen a few here and there, haven't been able to locate a nest or anything. Problem is my only fear in life is of bugs. I literally freeze up, scream and have been known to faint b/c of a bug being too near to me (this only happened once, a cicada killing wasp was on my leg, it's huge!)

My getting professional help to get over my fear of bugs is too costly and time consuming, lol, would it be easier to get rid of the silverfish?

    HOW???

  • Grocery stores that carry exotic produce in Chicago, IL?

I'm trying to find things like Noni berries, acai berries, yucca, etc. Does anyone know of any stores that carry these things? I stay on the North side of the city, however, for these items I don't mind driving so any location is welcomed.

My long term boyfriend and I are both self-employed and are looking into some health insurance options. I've heard of people before who are only dating but have insurance together. Wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to have a shared health insurance plan without being married in the state of Illinois.

    Tnx.

  • HS English Teachers, information about lesson plans and the like?

I'm having trouble finding information about what exactly an English teacher is allowed to do. How much freedom is involved in choosing texts and things to cover? Are lesson plans kind of laid out for you or do you create them from scratch and they have to be approved? I'm sorry if my questions are things that are difficult to answer. I recently decided to leave corporate america and become a HS teacher and I just want as much information as possible.

    Thanks!

  • Secondary Ed. Teachers, please help me out!!?

    Thanks for reading.

I want to be a HS teacher in the inner city. I plan on getting my AA from the community college and then through the articulation program, transfer to a university for my undergrad degree.

So, how should I go about becoming a HS teacher? I'm very interested in teaching HS in Chicago's inner city. I'm thinking major in Business/History/English at community college (those are the areas I would be interested in teaching. But from there, what? When I transfer to Univeristy, should I major in a subject of interest and take secondary ed. as a minor? Should I major in the same topic as I did in CC or something different?

Please, offer any advice. I've been very unsuccessful at finding information out online or through advisers.

    Thanks a lot!!!

    P.S.

I'd love an online mentor for someone with time on their hands!

  • Large breasts.... weight loss.. random question... help?

So, I have large breasts and i'm trying to lose weight so that i'm in a "healthy" range although i'm not fat by any means. Anyway, my breast are a size 34DDD and weight 3 lbs each, roughly. (Yes, I weighed them, on a kitchen scale, lol)

I've been arguing with a few of my friends as to rather this extra 6 lbs should count towards my weight loss numbers or not as I don't think my breast are going to go down in size although the rest of me is smaller, heheheehe.

The main question being, should the 6 lbs extra from my breasts be added on to my weight for my weight loss goals, or should I ignore it for this purpose. I know this is weird and it's a really light hearted question so no angry replies please?

    Thnx.
