Essential Black Metal recordings?

I'm a big fan of most all types of metal, but I have never seemed to be able to get into Black Metal at all. I've listened to a few songs from Satyricon, Emperor, and Nachtmystium and have been able to appreciate bits of it, but as a whole, it doesn't do much for me.

Can any real BM fans recommend 5 or 10 CDs that might help me, or maybe tell me what you really like about the music?

(My own tastes range from Nile to Meshuggah to Misery Signals to Isis to Mastodon to Gojira, etc.)

    From what you're saying, It seems like you don't like the straight up raw Black Metal. Here's some that fuses with other styles.

    Enslaved - Vertebrae, Isa, Ruun (Their most Progressive/Experimental albums)

    Dødheimsgard - Supervillain Outcast (Extremely experimental/Industrial overtones)

    Aura Noir - Hades Rise, The Merciless (Mainly Thrash/ Black metal influence)

    Keep of Kalessin - Armada, Reclaim (Melodic Black Metal/Strong influence of thrash)

    I would recommend these;

    -Panzer Division Marduk - Marduk

    -Nemesis Devina - Satyricon

    -A Blaze In The Northern Sky - Darkthrone

    -De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas - Mayhem

    Hope this helps though.

    If this doesn't,I'm really sorry :/
