is it illegal 4 any medical collection company 2 post bill 2 ur credit since u was a minor when thebillwasmade?
ok... i am 19 now... i have a 2 medical bills on my credit history now dating back from 5/2005 and 6/2006.... i was 16 and 17 at this time.... ok now these medical bills aren't even on my credit as a medical bill... they are on there as a collection department bill... so it makes me look like i don't owe a medical but like a department store bill. the "financial adviser" there told me that my medical bills were transferable and when i turned 18 they became my responsibility..... and she stated if i just pay the bill we can figure out whos credit to post it on... so basically she told me that i have to pay it and then she will post it to my parents credit.... lol yea i might be a kid but i am not that stupid... so i need help with this.. i cant find any laws about this issue... because if i $6k right now the dang surewouldn'tt be going to these people i could put it towards my school... but these 2 items on credit report has made my score drop over 200 pts...so i have worst credit than what i should have started with...

Immediately write to the credit bureaus and to the collection agencies that you were a minor child at the time these bills were incurred and that you are not legally liable for them. Tell them that you are filling an official complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the state's Attorney General, and that if they contact you again or fail to remove these items from your credit reports, you will pursue legal action.
Use your personal letterhead stationery, write in proper business form, and below your signature line put "cc: Attorney General, State of ___" and mail a copy to the Consumer Protection Division, [State] Attorney General. You can get the address in your phone book blue pages or online. It will be in the state capital.
And tell your parents (who were legally liable for paying these bills!) that their negligence is now ruining your credit. They were -- and remain -- liable for these bills. Tell them you need them to straigten out these matters. It is very unfair to saddle you with burdens which were their responsibility.

You can dispute these items with the credit bureau as being before you were 18 and that might get them removed. But you received the medical care and they are legit bills. Perhaps the derogatory items should be showing on your parents' credit reports.
Medical providers do not report to the credit bureaus. When debts are turned over to collection agencies, that's when the item gets reported.
The quickest way to resolve this is to offer a pay for delete -- you pay $x and they remove the items from your credit file. Send them a letter. Specifically say that you are not acknowledging the debt but are making the offer to expedite removal from your credit report. Offer 25%. Ask that an authorized agent of the collection agency sign and return a copy of your letter indicating acceptance of your offer. When you get the signed copy, send them a money order.

Stop arguing with the collection company, and start arguing with the credit bureaus. Write them a letter stating this debt is not valid, since you were not 18 and could not have accepted financial responsibility for them at the time they were incurred.
Research form letters to clear up your credit (don't pay for it) to get ideas of exact wording you can use. Make sure and send the letter certified mail, return receipt requested.
And typically medical collections won't drop your score 200 points. It may be dropping that much because of a lack of other credit, or it is being reported incorrectly.
