No, it does not hurt at all. I say it hurts more to have your arm pinched (and I have a very low tolerance for pain)
And no, they do not numb it.
if you can tolerate your nose pierced, you can handle a lip piercing.

I got my lip pierced today, and I love it.
I got snake bites and they were pretty expensive.
It all depends on how you take pain actually.
I was okay.
You'll probably be told to take a deep breathe in and let it out
It works wonders because the pain lessens that way.
It will hurt for a few days or so I've heard, It also hurts to eat sometimes and that's what really bruised the left side today.

I love it though.
The pain goes away rather quickly. They usually get you to gargle with mouthwash, and clear your skin. and since it's so quick the only thing that might hurt is putting the jewel in.
If you do it, use a stud at first, it's quicker to heal

a lip piercing was one of the least painful piercings i've ever had :D don't worry about it, they really really don't hurt. the needles are designed so that the piercing is as painless as possible. piercings aren't done by just "shoving metal" in your face. i've done my lip and other piercings myself and have gotten them done professionally and you don't have to worry. make sure you keep your piercing clean and have fun with your new piercing :)
