Suppose a teacher is standing 25 meters from a student and both are stationary. The student throws a chalkboard eraser directly at the teacher at a velocity of 25 m/s and the deceleration due to air resistance is 2 m/s^2.

y = 1/2at*2
1.5 = 1/2(9.8 + 2)(t)*2
t = 0.5 sec
The effective range of this eraser would be less than 15 meters.
In my class, the number of detentions is directly proportional to the square inches of chalkdust left on my jacket or pants. One square inch = 1 detention.
In this case he would be sent to the office for harassing other students.
