I live in New Zealand and my family lives in Hungary.

Here in New Zealand the effects are not as harsh as they are in the US, but the prices are going up, and next year they expect worse unemployment figures and slow down of the economy as everywhere else, and the NZ dollar has been noise diving already.

In Hungary the situation is much worse, they are almost bankrupt, there are constant strike actions, some people expect 10% unemployment rate by next summer.

The important fact is, this is not a US crisis, it is a global crisis.

We are living in a completely interconnected and interdependent world by now, whatever happens at one place affects everything and everybody else.

Depending on many factors the effects can be bigger or smaller, but nobody can hide or run away.
