How do I get my laptop to find its lost wifi adapter.?
I took it in a month after I bought it to have the hard drive replaced and now it doesn't recognize the adapter. I want to try to avoid another 6 weeks in the shop. GRRRR.

go to the manufacturer's website and go to the download drivers section (usually under support). search for your laptop model and download the wifi drivers. once you install the drivers, it should recognize the adapter again.
