How can a "perfect" human sacrifice be a good thing?!?
So, god required animal sacrifices in the OT, i.e. scapegoats (I'd like to know how that is moral or ethical). If god is the one who determines punishment and forgiveness, then why wouldn't he just forgive? Why would he need a human sacrifice to forgive others?!?!?!?!?
Some people have told me that god required blood sacrifice and the one thing he can't do is change his judgements because that would make him imperfect, but he did change what was moral when he made it so christians didn't have to follow all of the OT laws.
So, how can any human sacrifice (even a "perfect" one) be a good thing?!?
I still cannot understand how an "all-loving" creator of the entire universe would want a blood sacrifice, let alone a perfect one.
It just sounds utterly insane to me.
I'll let other people pick the best answer just in case I was too dense to understand.

Sin is selfishness, and it corrupts all things exposed to it, Humans, plants, weather, animals, and every cell of this universe. It is simply put a perversion of God's good gifts. Sin requires death. In the Old Testament they "covered" sin, not forgiven, just covered, in anticipation of the Meshiach Immanuel, it is reflected in their festivals "Feast of Trumpets" they blow a Ram's Horn(Shofar) to herald the Meshiach's coming, seven days after that is the Day of Atonement(Yom Kippur) when they fast and prepare for His Coming(make their paths straight-John the Baptist), then He arrives at their Summer's end Harvest of Tabernacles, when they build temporary shelters(like the Nativity scene, or tents, or both) and spend 8 days celebrating His return some day. The more you know the more sacrifice makes sense, a lamb signifies innocence, and sin destroys it, the same with goats, cattle, doves, flour, etc. The Festival you mentioned is Yom Kippur when the Azazel Goat is released with the sins of nation upon it(represents Satan in the end), and the other goat is sacrificed(Christ) to appease God's wrath for sin's transference to whom it rightfully belongs to, the author of the first sin Helel the annointed cherubim that fell to become Satan(The Adversary). Christ took the pain of sin for all of us, so we wouldn't be destroyed by our sin, and then died for our sins banishing them once and for all to the orchestrator of all sin, the Adversary. God found peace with Christ's suffering, because Christ could come back from that place, we could not, and now we have changed places in God's eyes as His children. As for the God couldn't argument, In order for there to be justice for those wronged by sin, God must punish the sin, but now that Christ took our place in that, we all don't have to if we submit, but those who do not, get what rightfully comes to them, and justice is served for their complete and total disregard for their fellow human beings, and their lack of charity, compassion, and love for their fellow man.

The blood sacrifices of the OT showed that the person was truly sorry for his sins & wrong doing. In the blood sacrifices the person was giving up something very important to them. Animals like money, and in many cases more so than money, showed they were truly sorry and were offering this very important thing as proof and obedience.
In the NT-with the advent of Jesus, such animal sacrifices were no longer the case. Jesus had become the sacrifice once and for all. Why? Consider that everybody sins. There isn't one person that has never committed a sin. Jesus being God AND man had never sinned and as man, Jesus could die. This enabled holy, sinless, Jesus/God to take our sins upon Himself and die for them. It was no longer an animal sacrifice since God (via Jesus) took the sins away because Jesus bleed on the cross and died for our sins. We ourselves aren't toe ones affording the blood sacrifice, it isn't our own blood, it's the blood of Jesus.
Why couldn't God just forgive? If that were the case there would be no repercussion for sins. A person could sin and suffer no consequence for it. It would be like a mass murderer saying "hey I'm sorry I killed those people" and the police saying "ok we'll just let you go free--have a nice day. There are consequences for wrong actions. Get a bunch of answers wrong on a test and you'll get a bad grade. The bad grade is the consequence of not studying and giving a lot of wrong answers.
Life is like that too. That's is why God couldn't just forgive everything with no questions asked. That would be like having a license to sin. Jesus is the only right answer and the only way to forgiveness and salvation.

God required a perfect sacrifice so that we could undertstand how much He was going to sacrifice to save man from eternal damnation. The written law cannot be changed the wages of sin is death. So the only way is to cover the sin in a way that God will not see it. that is where the blood of Jesus comes in [The Passover Blood Of The Lamb] When we recieve Jesus into our hearts we are washed in the blood of the Lamb & when God looks at us all He sees is the blood of Jesus. Amen!!!

That's the original worship of Yahweh. Which proves that he is not Jesus or any other god of any other Religion. Yahweh never made it so that Christians don't have to follow the Old Testament. Christians not keeping the law just proves they are a pagan and heathen people. They aren't the chosen anyways. The New Covenant still involves the law. Read Jeremiah 31 it proves it does. Christians have created thier own beleif.

If you are speaking of every day people being sacrificed, that is not a good thing, that would be murder. Because of Jesus' sacrifice there is no more need for them, human or animal.

I think it's about Love ....
Mathew 5:48
"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Remember to Love your Enemies....and....
there are no enemies outside of Yourself.
(where there is light, there can be no darkness).
It may be not as much about Sacrifice as, "Inner Changing".
And it Follows....
As Within....So Without
As Above....so Below.

As our Creator, God has the right to determine what is what... And it is not your place (with your limited knowledge and understanding where God is concerned) to question this.
One of the problems I see with you is that "some people have told" you.... instead of taking their word, why don't you seek the real truth and understanding where God is concerned?
If not... you may never understand or discover the REAL TRUTH of the matter.

I would think that if we ever came across a "perfect" human, we'd want to keep him or her around as long as possible. That person would have much to teach.

Not to sound morbid, but blood reminds us of death and it reminds us of what we deserve. By accepting, by faith, Jesus' sacrifice, we are continually reminded of how much He loves us. It is rare for a man to give up his life for a friend, much less those that hate Him. Jesus' sacrifice makes our hearts tender to his presence in our lives because we understand that He is not out to kill us, but to save us.
