Where/How to fix my sons X Box 360 ?
My sons XBox 360 is broken. He calls it the red ring of death... 2 red lights light up around the game consule most of the time. Here is the funny part. Sometimes it works... Other times it gets no power at all (the power box lights up butthe game unit wont turn on at all). I have looked on the XBox website and am down to sending it into them. I know it isnt under warranty anymore. Where can I get it fixed besides sending it in to the company? Or am I missing something? Can I possibly fix the problem myself? If anyone knows about these things please help me!
I am sorry, i meant to type 3 red lights not two....

i have a quick solution for the red rings of death (3 red lights light up)
1. take out all chords (except the power) and additional accesories and peripherals from system.
2. turn on the system make sure no games are in it
3. wrap the system with towels- 3-4 layers should be fine
4. come back in 20 minutes the internal chips should reset themselves making the console playable
5. remove towels and let sit for about 15 minutes
wala! watch the vid, it helps.

to the answer with the towel "fix"
DO NOT DO IT!!!
you will overheat the xbox, causeing the soldering on the GPU to fail, and the heat would also mess soften the motherboard, causing it to sometimes warp.
the towel thing will surely mess up your xbox 360.
you need to send it to microsoft, if you want the problem to be fixed.
if you do not want to, watch some videos on youtube that show you how to disassemble the xbox 360, and put new thermal paste on the processors to make it work right.

2 Red Lights is not the Ring of Death, your XBOX is not broken
2 Red Lights is overheating, ventilate your XBOX better to get rid off that.
As for the power light, check your connections (the power cable at the back of the 360 to see if it is in so it clicks) and your power socket
