Is the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail okay for a Christian family to watch?

The children are 13 and 16 years old and the mother won't let them watch harry potter since she is quite religious and against magic. Would The holy Grail be okay for them to watch?

Update:

FYI I am the niece of the mother who doesn't allow harry potter. I for one love harry potter and I own the holy grail DVD but i'm not sure if it's appropriate for them, so back off Mike V

Only if your family is related to an enchanter named "Tim".

The holy hand grenade scene merely conveyed a way for people to hear what it sounds like to read various portions of the bible. The way they read the instructions is almost exactly how some scriptures appear.

i admire the Holy Grail, yet another comedies i got here across to be the two humorous, nonetheless quite diverse are bringing up infant with Cary grant and Catherine Hepburn and a few like it warm with Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemon, and Tony Curtis. Hilarious!

There's some violence and it's a bit risque in places but I'd say yes.

Btw, Harry Potter is pure fantasy. It does not depict real magic or real witches in any way. It's more of a political statement on the British school system

  • lol yes the Holy Grail was the cup Jesus used at the Last Supper it is a perfect movie for those kids to watch

To me it would be OK but I don't doubt for a second that the Holy Grail will be seen as blasphemous to someone who can't tolerate Harry Potter.

On the other hand: it would be really healthy to have them watch it....

If the mother is against Harry Potter, then I wouldn't recommend Monty Python ...hilarious as it is, she probably would lack the humour to fully enjoy the movie.

Okay if harry potter is taken seriously then I doubt that movie would be seen as funny. . . I do find it amusing that people try to keep such a tight rope on their kids/family. . . whatever happened to free will and making one's own choices?

I think the mom would be offended by several parts. The holy hand grenade comes to mind.

It is just full of crude humor, its all british humor and thier british accent, there is just crude humor in monty pyton. The 16 i guess is okay, the 13 year no, but they wont understand the crude british humor. I advise no, just in case

    hahaha. JESUS CHRIST! RUN AWAY

That is so absurd. How can Harry Potter offend you, yet Noah's ark (Aka god drowning every man woman and child on the planet) is fine to teach kids about?

Sorry, I didn't mean "you". I meant people who get offended by those things in general.
