Homemade dog food recipes?
Does anyone know of any homemade dog food recipes or a website with recipes for homemade dog food?
I don't really want dog treat recipes, but dog food.
Thank you
I'm already familiar with raw feeding, and I feed my dogs raw food for treats, like chicken quarters and several different organs. I just was looking for some more complete meals, ones with more vitamins. Raw chicken is lacing in potassium and zinc.

I take a chicken and some liver and put it in a roaster with some water..then I bake it about 6 hours.the liver is diced into tiny bits.all the meat from the chicken is taken off the bones and the bones put back in the water from the roaster and add more water and bring to a boil..then add white or wild rice to the boiling water and cook til tender. I usually add a pinch of garlic powder a bit of salt some veggies like peas and carrots . Cool everything completely. Strain the chicken broth through a very fine strainer...then I add a bit of oatmeal just to bind it all..then put in freezer bags by portions and freeze..each night I take out what I need for next day and let it thaw ina sink of cool water...this is a good method because if the dog catches a chill you can warm it up and he will appreciate it..

The only reason there is such a thing as dog food is to create something less expensive for them to eat. Dogs are meat eaters and you can mix crackers with hamburger meat and walla, you have a dog food. You might check on your particular breed for things they need nutritionally and experiment with meats and other products that give them a decent nutritional balance until you find some combination they really enjoy. Check a favorite brand of commercial dog food and read the ingredients then try and duplicate it. Just work on it with your dog until you agree on taste and cost and you'll have it.

Cut out the mayo, the grapes (Why would you feed a carnivore grapes? They don't feed lions and wolves grapes at the zoo, I assure you), the flour, the chicken broth, and the chocolate. That leaves you with chicken breast. But don't cube it, dogs have teeth perfectly designed for chewing their food and don't need your help. But chicken breast isn't a balanced diet so add in some heart, liver, gizzards, kidney, green tripe and the like. Add a little salmon oil for Omega 3 and 6 and tada. You'll be feeding your dog the healthiest homemade diet possible, a raw (aka uncooked because, dogs don't have thumbs, start fires, nor do they cook, nor are they evolved (as we are) to eat cooked meat) prey modeled diet!!!
