Why do some parents make fun of their own children?

If your mother calls you ugly again (and I'm sure you're not ugly by the way) look her straight in the eye and tell her this "Too bad calling me ugly wont make you pretty." (Standing up to her is the best thing to do. Even if you get punished in the short term (being grounded, told to shut up etc,) you'll find that after a while she will stop picking on you, because you are no longer an easy target.

I doubt that they hate you. you in all probability experience this way because of the fact your dad left once you have been youthful. this is uncomplicated for the toddler to think of this is their fault.
