Writing Hard Rock/Metal?
I love hard rock and heavy metal so lately I've been trying to write guitar riffs, and lyrics for my band. I'm completely stuck on guitar riffs so I need lots of help on that. I've kinda been working on lyrics although I have nothing written down but I have some ideas, but could you guys give me some topics that might be good for hard rock or heavy metal. Heck give me some stuff that maybe you've thought of even if you're not a musician and I'll write the song.

don't stress out, writing songs os hard but once you get going you won't stop for a while, also, relax and think of what is going on in the world, read a book, play a video game, watch a movie, all of these have inspired great songs by amazing bands, think of similes and metaphors that go along with things that you end up thinking about to make the lyrics less straight forward. the guitar part is sort of harder, get the lyrics, set a mood to them, and go from that.

Hard Rock/Heavy Metal (because there's a very thin line between the two): John Bonham (Led Zep) Ian Paice (Deep Purple) Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) Buddy Rich (The Buddy Rich Big Band) Terry Bozio (The Mothers of Invention) Metal (excluding Heavy Metal): Tomas Haake (Meshuggah) Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) George Kollias (Nile) Martin Axenrot (Opeth/Bloodbath) Vitek (Decapitated)

Well, when I listen to heavy metal, I notice the lyrics are mainly about something deep and sometimes disturbing.
Or your could add comedy and write a song on how you can't think of anything. You'd think those would suck, but most the time, people don't even know what your singing. lol.
The hard core songs I listen to are most the time about abuse, or revenge. Its pretty dark, sooo.....
good luck! Hope you find what you need.
