Switching from glasses to contacts for the first time, suggestions? recommendations? preferences?
i've worn glasses for a while but my eyes were never really bad so i never wear my glasses all day. but now my eyes are getting worse, and i'm thinking i should probably be wearing them all the time, so now i'm considering contacts. Has anyone had a really hard time switching to contacts? i don't like putting drops in my eyes, which i know i would have to get used to, but touching my eyes and stuff is fine. ladies, what about wearing make-up, did you have to change anything when you switched to contacts? Generally, i'm just concerned about getting used to them and if I will be able to adjust, I probably wouldn't wear them everyday, but for playing sports, going out, dressing up, etc.
any advice about your first experiences with contacts would be helpful, thanks!

I switched to contacts about two years ago and I do not regret it. It's so much easier to wear your contacts the whole day instead of wearing bothersome glasses. I have Acuvue (I'm not sure which one though) and it's great, it feels like I have nothing on. The only bad part is that when they start drying out they hurt and they become extremely uncomfortable (and it sucks taking off dry contacts). I've actually never experienced losing a contact in my eye or have one fall out so I would recommend Acuvue. In terms of makeup, it's easier. You put on contacts before you apply makeup and it's just like any other day (except you don't have to hide behind glasses). The only downside is the cost of getting contacts and the solution all the time. But the adjust isn't very hard... the first might be weird because it's a foreign object in your eye, but it isn't as bad as you would think. Just a little tickle. Well, good luck in your decision!

I wear contacts but I was told to only wear them 8 hours a day. And I don't wear them in the weekends because I was also adviced to take a break from them once or twice a week. So if you get contacts, make sure you get a pair of glasses to. You can't wear contacts 24/7 or you'll suffer from dry eyes. It will take two or three days to get used to them. You shouldn't feel them in your eyes. Thats why they're so great.
