Are epiphones guitars a good buy?
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about epiphones. Are they bad guitars, or do they just seem bad compared to gibsons? Can a $600 epiphone compare to a $600 fender?
Epiphone owners, what do you think of your guitar?
By the way, i've been playing for five years, so i'm not looking for a beginner guitar.

One has to play it, does it fit your hand? etc.
Epiphone is a Gibson company. Usually, they're good guitars, personally i'd look at others in the style/type you want; Play it, if it has an Epiphone name on the headstock buy it, if you like it. I have an Epiphone acoustic that is one of the best playin' guitars around. But it does not mean I dislike my Ibanez, Yamaha, or Aria either.
Price has very little to do with a good guitar. I bought a just great classical for $30 from a lady that just didn't play it and a Harmony for cheap that is a cheap guitar, but playable.
Anyway, good luck. pick away...
P.S. if you go somewhere to buy a guitar ask a musician to go with ya and help pick one out if you trust them, else most guitars these days over a few hundred are at least usually playable.

I hava a Strat and an Epiphone Special II. And they are both very good. Plus my music teacher says that Epiphone's are basically the same as Gibson's except for a couple things. But if you're buying the Epi Les Paul for 600 than I suppose it's good cuz my Epi only cost like 200 bucks.

i bought a great one from a pawn shop pretty cheap,it was messed up because i bought it there and i got the wiring fixed and i have not had a problem since it plays great i would prefer it over a fender. i used to have a fender, it was pretty good i didn't have many problems and when i did they were easily fixable but i just prefer an epiphone. but a gibson woud top an epiphone pretty easily

Yeah I will say that the Goth Epi G400 with the SG Body is friggin nice guitar hands down I am even thinking of getting one myself. Its got a killer Satin Finish, mahogany body its nice. As far as some of the others they are good beginner
guitars only.

i have an epiphone ej-200 acoustic, its plays nicely, i also have an epiphone les paul , and its great, the only difference between gibsons and epiphones are the electronics and different woods, but they are good guitars,
