Does anyone feel like your friendship just becomes a matter of convenience??? Its depressing.?
I'm just going thru some depression with the realization that people that i thot were my friends find it so easy to walk out of your life. For example, i just withdrew from nursing school because of some health issues, and have been dropped like a hot potato. No one even calls to see how Im doing. Its very disheartening.

This is called life. People grow up and grow apart, especially after high school. It's all part of the maturing process. People drop old friends and adopt new ones who they have more in common with. Also, as people get older and busier, I think they're less apt to take initiative in their social lives. Don't take it personally. Just try harder by taking the initiative to call them and get them to realize that you're a good friend to be around. They'll come around. They're probably just busy. and since you're gone, out of sight out of mind.

yes, that happened to me a few times. First was when I was in a class (I was the only black girl) and we were fighting about the n word and I started to cry. I sat with 5 friends of mine and not one person comforted me or even said anything. The second time was when a girl was spreading rumors about me and "friends" of mine kicked me out of our lunch table and I have to see them everyday and yes it does STINK to have horrible friends that trusted and you think love you as much as you love them I wouldn"t wish that feeling on anyone and I"m sorry you had to go through that

Friendship are rare and special. A real friend will make the time and effort towards the friendships. A friend will be there for you no matter what.
