Ford Expedition? Can someone tell me if a 97 with 140000 miles is a good deal for 5000. Perfect body and paint?
Nice rims 24, tires good with a sound system

take it for a test drive. take some sharp corners. accelerate hard and see how the transmission handles at high rpm's. go on the interstate and put your foot down and see how it handles at high speeds. if it handles well and there are no unusual noises, it is probably ok. in 97 the 4.6 and the 5.4 V8s were the engine options in expeditions, which are both excellent engines.

Has there been any major repairs on the vehicle? The one big thing that I would be worried about is the transmission, I had to have a new one put in a 98 f-150 and it cost over $2000. The transmission shop informed me that the transmission is only built to last about 120000 miles after that it could go at any time.

Kinda high on the price. The Expeditions have gone down in price due to the gas price. The milage, you will be expecting repair in the near future.
I would stay away and get something newer.
