Chinese name for my Mystery Snail?
I just got a black mystery snail for my aqarium yesterday and after a close examination of the critter I noticed that when he comes out of his shell his "face" kind of looks like an old Kung Fu master with one of those long thin mustaches, so I thought he should get a Chinese name.
I was thinking something that means
Slow
Slow worker
Peacful
or at the very least Water.
thanks a bunch and if you have any better Ideas for a name just let me know.

师傅 (shīfu) means "master" and is used in the "kung fu master" sort of sense. I think that would be a fantastic name for a snail that looks like that.
慢 (màn, "mahn") = slow
慢工人 (màn gōngrén) = slow worker
安静 (ānjìng) = peaceful
水 (shuǐ, "shway") = water
Source(s): http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php and a semester of Mandarin. - 1 decade ago
agent is wrong and right. the words he used were mandarin. it's depends because the CHINESE language is divided into two main languages called cantonese and mandarin which inside are divided too...we have the traditional writing and the simplified writing. so you'll have to use a translater but don't use the cheap internet ones..they're wrong 90-10 percent of the time.

Slow is mà n
Slow worker is mà n gÅng rén
Peaceful is Än jìng (there are other ways to say it, too)
Water is shuÇ
Chinese is a little hard to say if you haven't studied it, though. You might want to just pick the name of a Chinese Kung Fu master from a movie or story that you like and go with that. Like "Pai Mei" from Kill Bill.
