Name of hairy fungus growing on cat's droppings in garden?

My cat's poo in the garden often sprouts within a few days a soft hairy growth up to 40mm high, varying in colour from coffee to dark chocolate (remarkably like the cat's coat actually - I hope that's a coincidence!). I assume this is a fungus, but what is its scientific name?

Phycomyces should be the genus. Look at the picture shown to see if that is what you were asking about.

Phycomyces commonly grows on dung and feces.

I would not recommend eating this or inhaling the air close to it; mycotic infections can be very dangerous as we have few methods to treat them.

Its a form of the pennicillium fungi. If you give it about a week then eat it you will never suffer from illness again.
