  • Is this the most disgusting scam ever?

    to bcc: me

    Hello,

I am a senior accountant in one of Malaysians bank. (Name withheld for confidential reasons). One of our affluential customer who is Mrs. BIBY NAZLI MOHD HASSIM, wife to Chief executive of Celcom Axiata Berhad, DBA Celcom (The older telecommunication company in Malaysia).

The woman was a passenger of MH370 which lost on March 8, 2014 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

According to my investigation, the woman has a personal account with our bank which she kept secret from her family members. The current figure she deposited in her credit account is $10 millions.

I contacted you because I want us to find a way to transfer this money out of Malaysia since nobody knows about this money including her family members.

If you are interested in this deal, I will let you know which part you will play so that we will transfer the money out of Malaysia and have shares of it because it is not easy to transfer the money within Malaysia as authorities will find out.

Also remember this information is only both of us and nobody else knows about it.

I will expect a reply from you soon.

    Sincerely,

    Guangzi

Using the tragedy of MH370 in a scam is totally disgusting to me, who agrees?

  • Muslim ladies, could you please answer this for me?

This is really just curiosity from an atheist, but now that Malala Yousafzai has been released from hospital ( and I for one wish her a full recovery ) then what do you think of her stand for the education of Muslim girls? Presumably if you can read this and use a computer then you are yourself educated. The militant Islamic cleric Omar Bakri has described her as a traitor to Islam, do you feel that by your education you have in any way betrayed your religion?

As an afterthought question, if you could meet Omar Bakri, in an environment where he couldn't harm or threaten you in any way, what would you like to say to him?

  • Anyone help with this Barcelona building?

A few years ago I went from Salou to Barcelona on a day trip and after we entered Barcelona the guide pointed out a building, like a tall block of flats, where the balconies had old time movie stars like Humphrey Bogart and Marilyn Monroe painted life size on the walls. The paintings were very life like and made to look like they were actually standing on the balconies. I can't find a thing out about this building on the internet or in tourist guides, can anyone tell me where it is and do these paintings still exist?

  • Can any doctor answer this?

My wife is a large lady ( although she does not eat to warrant this by any means ) and now in her late 60s she has begun to suffer from gall stones and sometimes painful attacks. She would like the gall bladder removed but they won't consider it because of her large size, but two doctors have independently suggested that she has a gastric bypass to lose weight so that they can then operate on the gall bladder.

My question is, if she is considered fit enough for a gastric bypass operation, then how come she isn't considered fit enough for a gall bladder operation? From my reading it would seem that the gall bladder removal is the easiest and least intrusive of the two procedures, and can be done using keyhole surgery.

  • Has climate change become a new religion?

It fits many of the criteria of religion:-

It is founded largely on belief rather than evidence, Much of the science is dodgy to say the least.

The doom and gloom prophets are out in force ( our cities will be flooded, our prairies will be deserts, all the polar bears will die and our children will starve)

Some people are using it to establish power bases.

It has millions of gullible supporters swallowing every bit of crap published.

Whole governments are panicking, telling us not to drive our cars so much, not to use so much energy, and of course using it as an excuse for more and more "green" taxes.

I'm not saying climate change isn't happening, simply that nobody really knows how it will change or how much is down to human activity. Unlike the existence of God, there is actual evidence for climate change, but its a process which had been happening for millions of years and will go on happening long after the human race is dust. As much of it is founded on myth, rumour and blatant lies in my view it strongly resembles a religion, who agrees and disagrees?

  • Holiday Insurance can you advise please?

Could anyone please recommend a travel insurance company that will provide reasonably priced insurance for a woman in her late 60s with rheumatoid arthritis travelling to European countries? Almost all the ones we have contacted either don't want to know or ask for totally outrageous premiums.

  • Why the difference in petrol prices?

I live in the North East of England and have just enjoyed a holiday on the South Coast. We are always told up here how much more expensive it is down south, and people are paid more because of this, so I expected petrol to be more expensive down there. Surprise surprise, I pay between 137 and 138 a litre up North, but around Eastbourne I was only paying between 133 and 134. Any petrol company representative care to explain why the deprived North East should be even further downtrodden like this?

  • Query about driving licence address?

Basically, my stepson spends almost all his time in London, and rents furnished flats on short term leases so he moves usually at least once a year. Would it be legal for him to put our address as his home address on his driving licence so that he wouldn't have to go to the trouble of sending to the DVLA for a new one every few months? I can't see a problem as travellers must put an address on their licenses which they must rarely reside at. Anyone with real knowledge of this and not just guesswork please help.

  • Muslims, not really a religious question, but...?

What is going on with all this upheaval in North Africa? Why have all these Islamic countries suddenly one after the other decided to rebel against the rulers? Can any Muslim with relatives or connections there enlighten us? What would you like to see these governments replaced with?

  • Why do Freeview do this?

Can anyone tell me why Freeview insist on putting up a none cancelling flag at regular intervals to say that channels have been added or removed? It might be policy to give out information but it makes it a real hit and miss afair to record a program using a timer because almost inevitably there is a flag across the picture which wasn't there when the recorder was set! I have had countless recorded shows made unwatchable by them and I can't be the only person it annoys.

  • Can only atheists be TRULY charitable and compassionate?

I am an atheist, and I tend to be a real *help a lame dog over a style* type. I also often give to charities, especially medical research, though I am fussy as I consider that some charities do as much harm as good.

The point I am making, though, is that when an atheist does something like this, it comes from inside them, not because they feel it a duty because it is written in a Holy text or preached to them in a church or mosque. There is no onus on them to be charitable, they simply do it out of common humanity.

So I ask again, is this not TRUE charity and compassion, compared to that which is done as a religious duty?

  • How do I change my Yahoo e mail account?

Basically, all I want is an e mail account. What I do not want is this social networking thing that Yahoo dropped on me where I see lots of pointless information about people, most of whom I do not know and do not wish to know...Fred is now friends with Babs...Freda looked up breast feeding...this sort of mindless rubbish. Can I get rid of this option and turn it back into just a simple e mail account anyone?

  • Hotel Garbi, Playa Den Bossa, Ibiza?

Has anyone stayed in this hotel? What I really want to know, being in my 60s, is whether this hotel would be OK for someone in my age group and not full of young party types. I don't object to them having a good time but at my age I need my sleep and don't want somewhere with 24/7 noise and disturbance.

  • Anyone been to Es Canar lately?

My wife and I are considering going to Es Canar next year. We are both in our 60s and she is disabled. Would it be OK for us, in the sense of not full of drunken 18 to 30s and flat enough for a wheelchair, with some evening entertainment such as music bars catering for our age group? We have been to San Antone Bay and loved it and Santa Eularia and hated it ( no offense to anyone but it was a dog shite ridden boring scruffy dump ) so we need somethin more like the bay. We don't mind young families around, as long as the kids are well behaved, but not the party scene.

  • What annoys you most on holiday?

According to a recent survey, these are the top ten things that annoy us Brits most when we are on holiday.

    1 Reserving sun loungers

    2 Exessive noise

    3 Drunkeness

    4 Bad karaoke

    5 Cultural insensitivity

    6 Unsociability

    7 Arguing

    8 Stingy tipping

    9 Public displays of affection

    10 Patriotic holiday wear.

So what annoys you most? Recently in a hotel on Tenerife my wife and I witnessed the shameful spectacle of an elderly brit male reducing the Spanish girl on the dining room reception desk to tears for nothing more than asking to see his dinner card. Apprently she'd asked to see it the previous day and that should have been good enough in his eyes. The thought that she couldn't possibly keep 500 plus faces in her head, especially as they were constantly changing, obviously never crossed his tiny mind. Other Brits in the dining room were disgusted and many went to support her. As for drunkeness and lud behaviour, sadly many resorts in Spain now have to suffer this, especially from younger groups and stag and hen nights. Who agrees?

  • Help with Hotmail anyone?

Somehow my Hotmail account has become corrupted. This is definitely a function of the Hotmail server, not my own computer, as I have changed to a new computer but it still happens, and also happens when my computer is actually switched off.

I am getting literally dozens of messages a day into my inbox, all from postmaster@hotmail which are supposed to be delivery failures but all are to e mail addresses I've never heard of. Its like my account is constantly sending random messages to imaginery addys and then telling me the message couldn't be delivered. Should I shut down this addy and open a new one or is there some way of telling Hotmail and getting them to fix the problem?

  • Has Global Warming become a business opportunity for some?

Personally, I'm something of a global warming we-are-all-doomed sceptic, but leaving that aside, it certainly seems as if some people see this as a bandwagon to jump on with unlimited financial opportunities.
