Do people agree that this is a main reason why we must resist Islamic encroachment with all means at our dispo?
Turkey is not even an Islamic country where the Imams rule, its a secular state, yet even there this happens and accounts for half of all murders in the country. Barbaric!
Sorry, don't know why DISPOSAL didn't type in full.
No, Iratza, one man didn't do it, a family council decided to kill this girl for the horrendous crime of talking to boys, and even if only one appointed man did the deed, it still doesn't excuse ALL the men doing this across Turkey in the name of family honour. Its you who need a sense of perspective.
The US Govt executes convicted murderers Frog, not 16 year old girls for talking to boys. Shame you can't see the difference.
So Vivi, are you saying that honour killing is not an act inspired by Islamic belief? I don't recall ever reading about Christians of Buddhists practising it.
You think there is no child abuse in Turkey know all? Its universal, the difference is that in the UK we have the guts to expose it and try to do something about it, not to sweep it under the carpet as many countries do.
Middle Man, in 2009 Turkey had a murder rate of 6.2 per 100, 000 head of population compared to 5.2 for the USA and 2.03 for the UK, that's not a good ratio. Imagine if half the murders in the USA or England were of disobedient girls by other family members in the name of honour. There would be a national outcry!
Well what a sad bunch of limp wristed bleeding heart liberals you are. Thank goodness there are still plenty of people prepared to stand up and fight for their country, their beliefs and their traditions.
Dubai is famous Vivi? Did I not recently read that it is also bankrupt because they have spent so much on image that they can't repay their massive debts? Hardly a good example.

Anyone who treats an innocent person badly should be disposed of. The Islams or whomever they are of any religion or culture should be resisted. Not all of them are that bad, also, there are bad people in every societal group who we must resist. It just seems like the bad ones get all the publicity.

well, half is a pretty high percentage when compared to America where it's essentially zero percent. But the other half of that statistic is that maybe the overall murder rate is just mind numbingly low so these honor killings stand out, eh? I agree it's barbaric but I don't pretend it's a problem I'll encounter since I'm already probably more educated than your average Turk. Until recently, too, our employment situation has been better than theirs so people don't have the kind of time it takes to dream up this type of atrocity and self destructive behavior.
Edit: I agree, the numbers are high, but it's an argument against ignorance more than anything else. Islam doesn't have the corner on ignorance - just ask a creationist.

If Turkey can't stop Muslims murdering their kids, perhaps we'd better invite them all over here where we can keep an eye on them. Mind you, in the UK last year there were 60,000 convictions for the sexual abuse of children, so they probably wouldn't want to come.

No I don't agree. What we need to avoid is Islamophobia, of which your question is an example. You should examine your own country's faults first.
