Muslims, not really a religious question, but...?

the main reason for this 'upheaval' is to get rid of anti-islamic dictators. The arab world is is or was ruled by a handful of ppl who called all the shots.

no real laws set in place but more like the dictators said what was what.

there was never proper elections and the dictatorship runs in the family so, when one dies, his son takes over.

basically, the arabs are sick of being ruled and robbed of they're rights by these dictators such as Mubarak and Gadaffi.

This is gonna be a major revolution in the muslim world and im glad ppl arent affraid any more to stand up and fight for what is right!!!!

edit: dictatorial leadership is not a natural thing islamically speaking. yes, there should be a leader, but not one who the people do not choose. we are a far cry away from democracy but that is what we want in the end i guess.

Religiously speaking, the ppl of a country should choose the ruler and they are entitled to equal rights, health care and freedom of speech.

Islam is just. if every muslim country was ruled Islamically then we would be verry happy ppl.

I know the idea ppl have about shariah law, but if u study it in depth, then you will realise, that it is the best and most efficient way to run a country.

So the people can now revolt - something they have been trying to do for over half a century.

What democracy?

Millions of pounds needed to run in US elections, cronyism, old boys networks? Look in the UK where the leader and his millionaire pals, elite schooled, run the show...

Democracy is failing -

God is the real dictator - not man.

I know its easy to blame others for your problems - muslims became decadent and left their Islamic teachings -

but look at the history of the middle east and North Africa and Southern Spain during "the dark Ages" - Islam was flourishing in a spirit of tolerance and enlightment.

It was this Age that gave rise to European Enlightenment as many books on Medicine, Astronomy, Maths, Civil Society were translated from Arabic to Latin (the foundation of Most Western European Language)

One small example - The tool used to extract tonsils today is almost identical to the ones Ibn Sina (Averroes) used in the 12th C.

My stepdad is from Morocco so I've been there many times and I can totally understand why ppl there go against their leaders. Don't think that it got to much to do with Islam, more with the living situation and having no freedom of speech plus there is no social security like here in the UK

What is really interesting is that the USA and its ****-licking ally, Britain, now have to face up to the fact that their right-wing allies in the Middle East are going down the toilet.

And with more Islamic governments soon to be installed, the Israelis had better get ready for a few nasty but well-deserved shocks.
